Romans 10:3For, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.

John 6:30-31So they said to him, “Then what sign do you do, that we may see and believe you? What work do you perform? 31 Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written, ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’ ”

Midrash Mekilta“You shall not find the manna in this age, but you shall find it in the age that is coming” (on Exod. 16:25).

Midrash Tanchuma“For whom has the manna been prepared? For the righteous in the age that is coming” (Midrash Tanchuma, Beshallach 21:66).

Midrash Rabba“What did the first redeemer do? He brought down the manna. The last redeemer will also bring down manna” (Midrash Rabba on Eccles. 1:9).

1Corinthians 1:22For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom

Luke 16:29-31But Abraham said, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.’ 30 And he said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’ 31 He said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be convinced if someone should rise from the dead.’ ”

John 6:32-33Jesus then said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”

Exodus 16:4Then the LORD said to Moses, “Behold, I am about to rain bread from heaven for you, and the people shall go out and gather a day’s portion every day, that I may test them, whether they will walk in my law or not.”

John 6:48-51I am the bread of life. 49 Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. 50 This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. 51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven…

John 6:38For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me.

John 8:42Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and I am here. I came not of my own accord, but he sent me.

John 13:3Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from God and was going back to God

John 16:28I came from the Father and have come into the world, and now I am leaving the world and going to the Father.”

John 17:8For I have given them the words that you gave me, and they have received them and have come to know in truth that I came from you; and they have believed that you sent me.

John 6:34They said to him, “Sir, give us this bread always.”

John 6:35-36Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. 36 But I said to you that you have seen me and yet do not believe.

Revelation 7:14-16I said to him, “Sir, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 “Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his presence. 16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any scorching heat.

MacArthur…there's a lot of people searching and there's a lot of people longing for something in their soul, but there's no searching of the human mind and there's no longing of the human heart that can know satisfaction apart from Jesus Christ. The hungry heart only needs one food, Jesus Christ. What a joy.

Page 22: The Bread of Life John 6:30-36

Simeon…if we have Christ, we have all things. We can want nothing which is good for the body; nor any thing that relates to the soul. He is food to the hungry, clothing to the naked, riches to the poor, health to the sick, life to the dead; He is ALL AND IN ALL.

Matthew 5:6Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
