The Breath Taking 80’s

This 8th grade exit project is about the 1980’s. Well the 1980’s have a lot of

interesting events that occurred. These events have interesting facts. Some of

the events that occurred were first woman appointed to the U.S. Supreme

Court, E.T. movie released, P.G. 13 movie rating was created and many

more!

1980-Pacman

• High score is 3,333,360• There are 256 levels• They got the look from a pizza with a

missing slice• I played the pacman game on play

station 2 it is very fun you should try and play it!

1981-First Woman To App. The U.S. Supreme Court

• Mrs. O’Conner was the first woman too app. The supreme court

• The 102nd person to sit in that chair• She started Reading at the age four• I think Mrs. O’Conner Shows us

woman that we can do it!

1982-E.T. Movie Released

• The lost alien E.T. was based on Albert Einstein, Carl Sandburg, and a pug dog!

• The Extra Terrestrial was a hit movie from the start!

• The difference between the 1982 version of E.T. and the 2002 version is the sound but has the same great story.

• I never seen the movie but after doing this research I will

1983-Cabbage Patch Dolls

• Xavier White was the creator of Little people.

• When Xavier gave his rights to Coleco they change the name to Cabbage patch dolls.

• Cabbage patch dolls was sold to 4 big companies.

• All cabbage patch dolls are born in Baby General Hospital.

• More than 3 million dolls where sold

• The hospital is located in Cleveland, GA

• When I was about 3 I had a cabbage doll and my nana told me I went nowhere with out it !

1984-P.G. Movie rating was Created

• MPAA made the movie ratings• P.G. 13 Movie rating is inappropriate for kids

under 13• Contains strong language, Nudity (Non-Explicit),

strong, mildly bloody Violence, or Mild Drug Content

• 77% of the P.G. 13 films contain tobacco• Red Dawn Was the First P.G. 13 Films

• P.G. 13 Movie rating where limited to one non-sexual based use of words

• I think most P.G. 13 movies are not exciting as the Rated R movies so I always get my mama to get my mama permission to let me watch Rated R movies !

1985-Titanic Shipwreck• More than 6,000 artifacts from the Titanic

• The ship was found split in half

• It took hours for the ship to sink

• It took 73 years and many attempts to find the titanic

• I seen the titanic movie and it was extremely sad !

1986- U.S Supreme court reaffirms abortion rights

• 53 out of 1,000 Teenage girls get pregnant between thee ages 15-19

• 45 out of 1,000 White girls get pregnant while they are teenagers

• 82 out of 1,000 Hispanic girls get pregnant while they are teenagers

• 100 out of 1,000 Black girls get pregnant while they are teenagers

Supreme Court Reaffirms Abortion Cont.

• Ronald Raegan Was the president

• The woman has the absolute right in 3 months to have an abortion

• When the baby is able to leave outside the womb the woman are not entitle to have and abortion

• I would say you can have an abortion depending on the Reason !

1987-Aeropostale

• Better Known As Aero

• Logo is a bull dog and a butterfly

• Their clothes are typically sold under $50 dollars

• The name originated from a Latin- American airmail called Compagnie Generale Aeropostale

• Are over 900 Aeropostale stores in New York and Canada

• I wear aeropostale and its not really that high but it’s a very causal look for boys and girls.

1988- Simpson Show

• Was first viewed on the Tracey Ulman Show

• Better Known as the longest-running prime-time cartoon

• The actual characters was drawing poorly because Mr. Groening Stated He Couldn’t Draw so the animators traced over it

• Matt Conceived His idea in a office lobby

• Some Parents don’t like Bart Simpson

• The Simpson movie was released on July, 27, 2007

• I seen the Simpson show and movie and I love it

1989-Batman

• Many people quiet the role of batman

• Bruce Wayne transformed into batman after seeing he parents brutally murder

• Jack Dalance played the joker in batman begins

• I don’t really like batman but I have seen it Before
