Soup’s On!!!

Advent soup supper will be next Wednesday,

December 11 at 6:00 pm, before mid-week Ad-vent worship service at 7:00 pm. Come join us for dinner and evening prayer.

Asleep in Christ

Audrey McMahon, mother of St. Matthew member Cathy Shackel, is now at peace in the Lord. Visitation will be held this Thursday,

December 5 from 3:00 pm—9:00 pm at Petkus Funeral Home, 12401 S. Archer Avenue, Lemont, IL. The McMahon funeral service will be held here at St. Matthew on Friday, December 6 at

10:30 am. Reverend Michael Gudgel will officiate. The committal is private.

Attention All High Schoolers!!!

Plans are set to see the Christmas classic movie, “It’s A Wonderful Life” on Saturday,

December 14 at 1:00 pm at Hollywood Boulevard on 75th Street. Bring a friend! Your tickets will be paid for!!! Bring some cash for food, if you like. You can meet the group at St. Matthew Church or meet us at the theater. Please let Mr. Selle know if you are coming by this Sunday,

2020 Contribution Envelopes

Contribution envelopes for the new year 2020 are ready for your pick-up starting this weekend. Envelope boxes are in the basement. If you don’t see a box with your name on it, simply take an unlabeled box.

Time to Decorate

Volunteers are needed to help with decorating the church for Christmas. Decorations will go up this Saturday, December 7 at 8:30 am. Grab your breakfast on the go and head for church to help launch this Christmas season. No need to sign up or e:mail anyone. Just come!!!! All volunteers are welcome.

Copies of Portals of Prayer for January through March, 2020 are now available for pick-up in the narthex. Large print copies are also available.

Christmas Poinsettias

The sign-up sheet for poinset-tias is now in the narthex. In case you are not familiar, you can sign up, and a poinsettia will be ordered for you and put on the altar for Christmas Eve/Day. You may pick up your poinsettia

after the Christmas Day service or the following weekend. The cost is $15.00. You can pay by cash or check made out to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, and drop your payment in the offering plate by December 15. Also with the payment, please include the note you would like in the Bridge Builder (In memory of, In celebration of, In thanksgiving for… ). If you do not provide a note, the following dedication will be used: “To the Glory of God and in Thanksgiving for all of His Blessings”. Thank you for making our altar even more beautiful for the Christmas Eve and Christ-mas Day services as we celebrate the birth of Jesus.

Your Help Requested

Join area Lutherans at the March for Life Chicago on SATURDAY, January 11, 2020. A March For Life Chicago convention kicks off the day, and a short walk around Daley Plaza begins with a line-up of inspirational speakers affirming the value of life and underscoring the importance of con-tinuing to speak out for life. LCMS President Rev. Dr. Matthew Harrison is participating. To take the NID-sponsored bus, meet at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1101 Kimberly Way, Lisle 60532 for pre-event worship at 9:00 am. Bus departs at 9:45 am and returns at 4:45 pm. Suggested Donation: $20. Bus reservations MUST be made by January 7 at 630.234.1491 or [email protected], and participants must download a free convention fast past. Also, Rev.
