THE BROWN ACT - PURPOSETHE BROWN ACT - PURPOSE

To ensure that almost all aspects of the decision-making process of legislative bodies of local agencies are conducted in public and open to public scrutiny, including discussion, debate, and acquisition of information

• To know in advance the location and time of the meeting

• To Attend Meetings: “All meetings of the legislative body of a local agency shall be open and public, and all persons shall be permitted to attend..”
