dream. The in be-tween of a 'big dream'and realizing its out-come is a mystery full ofgoals and variables. And the bigger thedream the more likelyexcuses will surface. Theinitial steps in executinga dream usually startswith something you al-ready are familiar with. But when it gets pastthe initial steps to learn-ing new skills, makingtime for the necessarylearning curves, andputting into practicehabits to facilitate suc-cess, things can go sourwith excuses that stallthe outcome you want.In Wayne Dyer’s bookExcuses Begone!: Howto Change Lifelong,Self-Defeating ThinkingHabits he writes thatpeople use excuses asan explanation for stay-ing the same.Think about somethingyou want to improve, whether in your career, health, income or what-ever is important to you.It is something thatkeeps being brushed

Starting somethingnew, even if in yourbest interest, can beoverwhelming anddetrimental. Over-whelming, becausethe unfamiliar is knownto cause pangs ofanxiety, stress, alongwith uncertainty as tohow to get 'it' donebefore you even be-gin. By not taking ac-tion on a goal thatcould have a positiveeffect on your successcould be detrimentalto your future.

Think of a time whenyou were challengeddoing something thatwas outside your com-fort zone. A challengethat had you stretchyour imagination andtest your abilities. Didyou immediately dig inand rise to the occa-sion or did you fretover it before youeven got started? Most people do getoverly anxious whenaiming to fulfill a visionfor something better orwith goals aimedtoward their bigger

aside for less importantactivities such asspending too muchtime on the Internet, chatting in the work-place, watching toomuch TV, or whateverdistracts you fromreaching your intend-ed goal.

Let’s use exercising asa metaphor for a goal. You want to exercisemore. You understandexercising would bebetter for your health, your looks, and giveyou more energy, butyou can’t seem to fit itin your schedule. Youfret about not doing it.Promising yourself overand over again youwill start exercising, on-ly to disappoint your-self again. This goes oncontinuously until youeither get past inertiaor until circumstances, such as poor health, show up to motivateyou. Maybe you justkeep up the self-de-feating promises to theextent you drop theidea of exercising.

They were familiar and didn’trequire much creativity or re-search.

And that is the nucleus of thematter! I was not taking initia-tive in developing the nextsteps to building my business, which meant producing newprograms, learning newhabits/skills, and letting go ofineffective practices. I was in astate of inertia. I was produc-ing from my comfort zone.

To be in the state of inertia(laziness) that limits what youare meant to do and dream ofbecoming is detrimental toyou well being, career, and

financial success. It is leading alife that is primarily reactiverather than proactive. Under-neath the lack of motivationoften is fear of not being goodenough, not having the rightskills, not enough time or mon-ey or other negative, limitedbeliefs. My belief was that Iwas lazy. And the truth was Iwasn’t lazy doing the familiar, but lazy putting into practicenew habits and skills.I now have a deeper under-standing about inertia. Withthis deeper knowledge fromthe inside out, it added fuel to

Excuses are overflowing and in-ertia has taken over!

According to Isaac Newton’sfirst law of motion a body mov-ing uniformly will remain movingin a straight line unless it is actedupon by some outside force.Similarly, a body that is at restwill remain at rest unless actedupon by an outside force. Theword inertia comes from Latinand literally means laziness '.Things that have inertia are lazy.Lazy things like to keep doingwhat they are already doing.

One doesn’t like to think of one-self as lazy, especially whenmost people are in the midst of

doing, doing, and doing more;complaining about not havingenough time to get thingsdone at work and home. Ieven put myself to the test re-cently when I noticed I wasn’tmotivated in following throughon some new ideas and pro-grams to develop my business.I thought maybe I was lazy!

For a week I kept a journalrecording activities of both mybusiness and personal life. Theresults were I wasn’t lazy! How-ever, most of the items weretasks that were already in mo-tion.

MYou already have un-tapped potential, tal-ents and capabilities. But without movementthey will stay in a mo-tionless state. AlbertEinstein said: "Nothinghappens until some-thing moves." Keepmoving by listening toyour heart. It beatswith intuition and wis-dom.

"We are not in a posi-tion in which we havenothing to work with.We already have ca-pabilities, talents, di-rection, missions, andcallings." - Abraham H.Maslow

my saying 'yes' to ac-tions that require mov-ing up the ladder ofmy big dream ratherthan finding excuses.

I was doing the famil-iar and as Will Rogerssaid: "Even if you areon the right track, you’ll get run over ifyou just sit there."

· What can you do togain momentumand feel inspired onyour 'big dream'that you knowwould make a dif-ference towardyour success?

· What excusesare you making forinertia?

· How is thatworking?

· What is it costing you?

· Are you choosing a mediocre lifeor one you aremeant to have?

To reach the successand leadership youdesire, it is important togrow from the insideout and recognize in-ertia for what it is.

Almost three years ago Istarted my own business talkradio program on Blog TalkRadio. I started out inter-viewing a different guest ev-ery Thursday at 10 AM for aperiod of thirty minutes andgradually worked up to do-ing a daily show during theweek days for one hour. Atthis point I had four co-hostsfor the show in addition tomyself, something you maywant to consider if you de-cide on a daily show format.I met a lot of great businesscontacts during this timeand even made a little in-come. Even though I no lon-ger host a daily program Istill promote our past epi-sodes and promote mycompany at the same time.

Since I started my showback in 2009, there are otherInternet talk radio stationsthat have popped up. Theonly one I would recom-mend is Blog Talk Radio. They have been in businessa long time, the customerservice department is greatand they are consistently im-proving their level of servic-es. They have several levelsto choose from, some in-clude advertising.

If you are contemplatinghaving your own show, Iwould recommend that youtake some time to answerthe following:

Get away from it all in this excellent location.

. What type of showare you going to host,a business show, health and fitness, etc?. Do you want tohave guests on yourshow? If so, how of-ten?. What will be the fre-quency of your show, daily, weekly, twice amonth?. How long will theshow last, thirty min-utes, an hour?. Do you want to gen-erate revenue withthe show?. Do you want to hostthe show yourself orhire a professional?. What can listenersexpect from yourshow, is it going to beopinion based, infor-mational,etc.?. What’s your budgetfor advertising andhosting fees?

Answering thesequestions will giveyou a good start ongetting your show upand running.

Don’t feel that youneed to have a lot ofmoney to get started,I started with no mon-ey and built the showover time.
