HOUSE OF WONDERS

MEET THE CAST & CREW

John Bednarik (Chris Ferguson) is happy again to be working with ICCT. He was last seen as sweeper extrordinaire Ezekiel in White Christmas. He would like to thank the whole cast and crew for a fun and challenging experience. Special thanks to our Director Richard for his guidance and vision. Super special thanks to Audra-I love you-now Jazzercise! :)

Jen Brown (Holly Edwards) lives in a two-story house which is painted a pale pink, with cream-colored shutters. At least until House of Wonders finishes its run. Then she will return to her farmhouse in the country, and her habit of popping into whatever role she can get her hands on. Jen appeared most recently as waltzing scenery in ICCT’s Gigi, but has also appeared with Dreamwell, ACE Experiment and Usher’s Ferry Theater doing everything from Shakespeare to Rodgers & Hammerstein. She also belongs to several writer’s groups, so she feels right at home with Holly. And with the furry green coat on her mozzarella...

Mary Ellen Chudacek (Voice of Florence Pasutti) is a long-time member of ICCT. She served on the board for over 20 years as board secretary in addition to 4 terms as president and a term as treasurer. She has directed 14 shows, appeared numerous times on stage, and has done about every backstage job known to humankind. Who knows, maybe voice overs is her next career?!

Chuck Dufano (Eugene Fugent) has been involved with several theatre productions in Iowa City and Coralville over the past several years. He is a board member and co-artistic director of Dreamwell Theatre. Chuck concurs with Hermione Gingold who said, "I sup-pose I shall drop dead in the theatre, to a full house, I hope."

Kathy Maxey (Myrta Jane Wonders) was most recently seen in A View From the Bridge and 9 Parts of Desire (Dreamwell Theatre) and Mystery at the County Fair (Combined Efforts Thea-tre). She would like to thank Kate for her witty script and Richard for giving her the op-portunity to ‘play dead’! And special thanks to her great cast-mates and wonderful friends for their continued support over the years, and to Larry for sharing so many of life’s joys with her. Grazie mille!!!

Kaitlyn McCoy (Cree LaFavour) is a senior, studying Psychology at the University of Iowa. This is her first production with ICCT. Her previous experience includes drama in high school and several theatre courses at Iowa. Kaitlyn would like to thank the director and all the other cast members of House of Wonders for being very welcoming and show-ing her the ropes. Kaitlyn made it a goal to be in a production before she graduated and it wouldn’t have been possible without the support and encouragement from her boy-friend and family.

Roxy Running (Rachel Hughes) has been in a number of area shows since her Iowa City debut in The King and I (ICCT). She was most recently on stage in the ensemble of Gigi (ICCT) and appeared as Miss Willie in The Curious Savage (Dreamwell). She'd like to thank her husband for always encouraging her to audition and Richard for casting her.

Rip Russell (Juneau Jim Littlefield) is a University of Iowa Theatre Arts graduate. Rip has performed locally with ICCT, Dreamwell Theatre, City Circle Acting Co., Theatre Cedar Rapids, Classics at Brucemore, SPT Theatre, Combined Efforts Theatre, Eulen-spiegel Puppet Theatre, and has appeared in over 20 productions with Riverside Thea-tre. Favorite roles include John Proctor (The Crucible), Atticus Finch (To Kill a Mocking-bird), Henry (Mud), and Eddie Carbone (A View from the Bridge). This is Rip's 11th pro-duction at ICCT, dating back to Same Time, Next Year in 1983. He is employed in the Radiology Department at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Rip lives in Iowa City with his wife Janis and their parrots, Dickens and Buddy.

Noah Tiegs (Assistant Director) is the nepotistic opportunist in this play. He has been attending rehearsals since he was 3 months old and is active in music, drama, and speech and creative writing at Northwest Junior High. He is hoping that all of these experiences translate well at West High next year. Noah’s favorite roles are villains and the devil, whom he has played with great relish no less than 5 times! Tiene un hermano, quien llama “Gato”. Gato está en el séptimo grado y sabe hablar un poco esapñol como su her-mano, Noah.

Richard Tiegs (Director) has appeared in ICCT’s Brigadoon, Robber Bridegroom, The Music Man,Woman in Mind, and Fiddler on the Roof. He was music director for Cinderella and You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. This production of House of Wonders marks his third directorial effort after Trial by Jury (1991/1992) and Annie (2002). He formerly directed for Young Footliters where he did 7 plays in 8 years. He is an active musician, having directed the Voices of Experience and, currently, the Cougar Chorale at Coralville Central. “Carolyn, I’ve done my play; I’m coming home!”

Jill Van Dorpe (Garthlene Calvert) Jill has performed in many shows and operas with various theater groups. She was most recently seen in White Christmas, Sound of Music, The Drowsy Chaperone (ICCT) and Twelfth Night (Arc Cultural Experimental). Jill will also appear at the Englert in ICCT’s Honk! this June.

If you’d like to contact the Board directly, email us at: [email protected]

Proceeds from ticket sales provide less than half of the operating budget of ICCT. We are a non-profit organization and can always use your help! Your contribu-tion is tax-deductible (minus the value of tickets) and helps to keep our ticket prices low to improve accessibility to the general community. In this way, we can help people come together to celebrate the excitement of live theatre.

You may send a check or money order payable to Iowa City Community Theatre, or donate with your credit card number on our website.

Send checks or money orders to ICCT at :

You can become a member of the ICCT family for a fee of $25/yr., which gives you voting rights at our meetings, newsletters and other mailings, and advance information about shows and events related to the ICCT.

We can help your business get broader exposure in Iowa City and Johnson County. This is usually done by advertising in our playbills, but can also be by sponsorship of shows, elements of shows, or specific actors.

We are always in need of new and interested individuals for help at the community theatre in a number of different capacities: acting, directing, back stage, and at the front of the house.

If you have talents to share, wish to purchase tickets or sponsor a show, please contact the Box Office.
