Epiphany

7 January 2018

Missa Sancti Nicolai-Franz Josef Haydn

The name refers to the composition of the Mass

for St. Nicholas Day in 1772. Every year on this

day a Mass was held in honor of the Prince of

Esterhazy who shared his name-day with St.

Nicholas. It was thought that Haydn wrote this

compostion specifically to thank the Prince for

allowing him to return to Eisenstadt.

It is customary to bless your house at Epiphany!

Blessed chalk will be available after Masses on

Epiphany for you to take home. The Rite of

Blessing will be in the 6-7 January bulletin.

Advent Pageant: Many thanks to all who

helped make the Advent Pageant a beautiful

happening! Thanks to the Women's Club for

the beautiful greenery decorating the tables, the

McConnell Family (Rick, Monica, Aaron, and

Leah) for setting up the creche, Amanda Colie

and Josie Strong for directing the pageant, Kris-

tin Alexander for costuming, and all the parents

who donated their very talented children!
