Mother Theresa’s ANYWAY prayer

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of

selfish, ulterior motives; be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some false friends and true enemies; succeed anyway. If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; be honest and frank anyway. What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; build it anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; be happy anyway. The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; do good anyway. Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; give the world the best you’ve got anyway. You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; it was never between you and them anyway.

Breathe in Love,

Exhale Peace.

SCRIPTURE REFLECTIONGATE TO HEAVEN26th Sunday in Ordinary Time (year C)The plight of Lazarus and the wealthy man of this world, Dives, is a favorite image of our ancestors in the faith. If it were not for Jesus, we would all be in the place of the rich man on the wrong side of the abyss roasting in Hades. Jesus is the one risen from the dead, come to lead us by the ladder of his cross across that great gulf and into paradise. We have Moses, the prophets, and Jesus to help us to repent. Jesus is the way and the gate to heaven. Be warned. Repent, and follow him!

LOCAL VIRTUS TRAINING Anyone who is interested in helping with Pastoral Care/children/youth or would just like to get the

SAVE THE DATE—OCTOBER 9TH DVD presentation “Faithful Citizenship, Catholics and the Political Process.” Bishops DeLorenzo and Loverde discuss the baptismal responsibility of Catholics to participate in political life. Based on the US Catholic Bishops’ statement “Forming Conscience for Faithful Citizenship.” The DVD explains seven key themes of Catholic social teaching and the duty to vote with a well-formed conscience.

RESPECT FOR LIFE NEWS Sunday, October 2nd, is set aside to Respect Life—all life. In particular, we, as Christians and as a nation, draw attention to the sadness and horror of human abortion and its consequences, On the other Sundays of Oct. other aspects of life’s “seamless garment” will be highlighted. I invite you to join me after Mass next week for one hour at the roadside to pray quietly holding signs in a “life chain.” Yes, this kind of witness takes a bit of nerve, but is really not that hard. For more information go to lifechain.net and find out just how un-alone you’ll be out there! Carol Smith 776-9087. “Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its

people to live, but to use violence to get what they want-”
