Parish Update…. Dear Parishioners, It has once again been a very eventful time with the wildfires, evacuations and smoke filled days. We are so grateful to all the first responders who worked tirelessly to save homes, property and contain the fires. After Labor Day, the county lifted restrictions allowing indoor worship once again. We were thrilled to move back into the church to our regular Mass schedule adding our LIVE Stream broadcast during our public 10am Mass time. We are grateful to Kevin Monahan for his many months of streaming and welcome our newest streamers, Ian and Colin Mackenzie and Joe Bac who have been helping with our broadcasts this past month. It’s been so wonderful to see more new faces venturing back to church as we continue live with the pandemic among us. It is usually during this time of year in October that we begin our religious education classes with the youth of our parish. Since we are still not able to hold in person classes, we have postponed the start of our program. We were able to celebrate the Sacrament of First Eucharist during the summer with our third grade children from last year and are planning to Confirm our Second Year Confirmation Students from last Spring soon this Fall. We are excited for these teens to finally be able to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit in the Sacrament of Confirmation. Once again, many thanks to you for your prayers, encouragement and your continued financial support of our parish. We look forward to better days and hold onto our motto - our FAITH is stronger than fear, our HOPE is greater than despair and our LOVE deepens our relationship with God and each other. ~ Fr. Seamus & Staff
We, the San Agustín Catholic Community in the Diocese of Monte-rey, united by our baptism and through the Gospels, seek to deepen our union with Jesus and grow as a faith community. We seek to enrich our heritage of care and concern for all, especially for those in need, by being instruments of God’s love and healing to the world around us. We foster a strong commu-nity atmosphere where individuals can share the Christian life with one an-other. We encourage our entire Church community to reach out to others as members of the body of Christ. Guided by the Holy Spirit and united in prayer, we pledge ourselves to pursue this mission by active partic-ipation in the liturgical, educational and social ministries of the Church. We recognize that to be effective, these ministries require spiritual, physical and financial resources, and we accept our responsibility.
