John Paul II set against beautiful photography. This free gift is made possible through the ongo-ing generosity of Hathaway Family Funeral Homes. We are most grateful for their commit-ment and generosity! Please take a calendar or two. If you know of parishioners who are unable to attend Mass, please take one home to them as well.

  • ____________________________________________ Registration for our 2020-2021 Faith Formation pro-gram continues on an individual basis. If you need to register your child for Faith Formation, please leave a message for Mike or Anne at the Faith Formation Of-fice. Please note that both Anne Cabral and Mike Fitzpatrick have full time jobs and are not available in the office during the day. They check their messages and return calls as soon as feasible. Thank you for your patience. ____________________________________________ After listening to a number of parents, discussion with Anne Cabral and Mike Fitzpatrick, our Faith For-mation Coordinators, and investigating what other par-ishes are doing, we have decided that Faith Formation classes for the immediate future will all be held re-motely. Because of the spike in Covid-19 in this area, we will NOT have in-person classes with our children and youth. We continue to encourage our families to participate in Sunday Mass, either in person or via our websites/Facebook page or through CatholicTV (Comcast channel 268).

    VOLUNTEERS FOR CHRISTMAS MASSES

Many thanks to those who have graciously volunteered their time and effort to assist with a number of duties at our Christmas Masses. In re-opening our three church buildings for Christmas, we need many hands to cover a variety of tasks. We are in need of lectors, folks to welcome and “check-in” our congregation, ushers during the Mass, and those who can help with cleanup after Mass. This work is needed for all 11 Masses for Christmas. If you can help in any way, please contact Wendy at the parish office as soon as possible so plans can be finalized. Many thanks for considering this urgent plea!

Every year around this time, the Diocese of Fall River recognizes the generosity and commitment of pa-rishioners with the Marian Medal. Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Diocese decided not to host an award celebration this year. Since Pentecost Sunday in late May, a number of parishioners have given considerable time and energy to assure the safe, weekly celebration of Mass. Without their generous service, we would not be offering four weekend Masses and a daily Mass, four days a week. As this is the time of year when we recognize the faithful service of our fellow parishioners, I ask you to please join with me in thanking these generous men and women for their commitment. These folks have served as greeters, ushers, lectors, altar servers, collection counters, sacristans, videographer, reception-ists, and all-around “go-to people,” both behind the scenes and in public view. May God bless their gen-erosity and service! Our thanks goes to . . . Amanda Antonelli, Tony Antonelli, Colleen Archambault, Roger Archambault, Paul Berube, Caesar Cabral, Jonathan Cabral, Agnes Costa, Ed Cote, Charles Demers, Homer Depin, Dave Driscoll, Pat Fingliss, Alice Garvin, Rob Lima, Sue Lima, Pat Medeiros, Ed Mendes, Steve Mon iz, Janet Rausch, Darlene Richards, Nancy Lennon-Robillard, Carol Sypko, and Virginia Wade. We also thank our talented parish musicians . . . Heidi Dion, Matt Dion, Matt Richard, E.J. Viveiros, and Frank Wilhelm. In these days of social distancing and online learning, our families have been most flexible and faithfully served by our Faith Formation Coordinators . . Anne Cabral and Mike Fitzpatrick. And our dedicated building and grounds crew, who have not only kept our worship spaces cleaned and disinfected on a daily basis, but have also helped beautify our grounds and are keeping up with ongoing repairs and maintenance. . . Denise Dyer, Bill Mathieu, Tony Silvia, Kathy Soares, and Eduardo Vieira. The woman who keeps all of the balls juggling in the air, and all of us sane and in good humor, our dedi-cated Administrative Assistant . . . Wendy Thibault. Last, but certainly not least, where would we be without the commitment and generosity of our ministeri-al team? Sister Kathee Corrigan, S.U.S.C., Deacon Bob Craig, Fr. Jim Butler, Fr. Gabriel Pivarnik, O.P., Fr. Jim Quigley, O.P., and Fr. Ken Sicard, O.P.
