There are many ways to measure the depth of relationships. I’ve listed many of those here,
in how the church is growing. Just this week, a family from the neighborhood came by, a
family we’ve never met, and they brought us a bounty of groceries in donation to the Food
Pantry. Their words moved me deeply.
We drive by the church every week and we see how you help people.
We want to help you help people.
Another way to measure the depth of relationships is in the conversations and decisions. Earlier this month we
advertised the schedule for summer worship. We increased the number of single service Sundays. There were
multiple, justifiable reasons, but there was an increase.
In the days since that announcement I’ve heard from many of you, expressing your thoughts about our schedule. I
was moved as much by the manner and tone of the conversations as I was the content. While it is true we have such
momentum in being all together, there are also justifiable reasons to support all our worship services as much as
possible. There are some realities of summer schedule and holiday weekends and our community’s trends to flee
whenever possible. We should use those trends to our best presentation, always.
I’ve heard you clearly. We have plenty of time to make adjustments to the schedule. And you now have more
opportunities to support those worship services and invite friends and coworkers to join you here. There are larger,
more significant considerations and conversations to be had soon about our future. God certainly has more for us to
do. As long as we are speaking to one another, and listening to one another, we have a great chance to reach God’s
potential for our church.
Thanks again for your support, your input and your conversations. They always mean to the world to me.
Revised summer schedule (one service Sundays):
May 28 (Memorial Day Weekend)
July 2-August 6
September 3 (Labor Day Weekend)
All other Sundays, June and August, are two service Sundays. I worry a little that folks will miss when things shift
from two to one and then back to two, again, but if we keep talking to one another, we will be fine. I’m counting on
you to help spread the word about this adjustment.
I covet your prayers as always.
Thanks for listening to me, just now.

VBS is June 19-22 (Monday-
Thursday) from 5:30-8:30pm. A
meal is served beginning at 5:30.
Our theme is built around Lego’s
and Building God’s Kingdom.
Children age 3 thru 5th grade are
encouraged to come and join us. It will be a week of
creating and building. It will be a week filled with children
learning ways that they can do to help build God’s
kingdom.
Has your child, grandchild, niece, nephew or neighborhood
children registered for VBS yet? There is still time and it’s
easy to do. Just go to the link or scan the code and it will
take you to our online registration site.
Would you like to volunteer? Is so give the church office a
call today! There is always room for volunteers.

TJ and Heather recently purchased a house with plans to
remodel it. I’ve offered my assistance to help and have
scheduled a work weekend for June 24-25, 2017. This
initial demolition work will involve removing all existing
carpet, removing sheetrock and replacing damaged wood
studs, installing new doors, and various other projects.
If anyone would like to help we would welcome your
support. Feel free to contact me by email if you have any
questions or plan to volunteer. Lunch will be provided.
