son, and the desire for aesthetic perfection. Its basic elements are logic and intuition, analysis and

construction, generality and individuality.” Keeping up with the vision of the Chairperson, Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan of inspiring the younger generation to enhance their knowledge and comprehending problems related to Math, Amity International School Sector-46 Gurgaon, successfully hosted an Inter Amity Mental Math Quiz for classes V and IX. The competition was conceptualized under the guidance of the school Principal Mrs. Arti Chopra. The event was witnessed by the Chief Guest Mr.Bajpayee and the judges Mr. S.L Gulati, Mr. Abhinav Choudhary and Mrs. Nagalakshmi Ratanam who addressed the gathering and expressed their appreciation for the outstanding cali-bre of the participants. Eight teams from the Amity schools of Gurgaon and NCR partici-pated in the event. It created an opportunity for the schools to bring their first potential on a common platform. After a brain teasing tussle, 4 teams were chosen for the final round. Various rounds like Visual, Solve a prob-lem, Mental Math and rapid fire were held and the quiz concluded with the activity round. The opulent spec-trum of activities and rounds provided a delightful dais to the participants. AIS Nodia, was the first runner up, while AIS Saket bagged the first position and brought laurels to the school in the Senior Category. Whereas among the juniors ,AIS Saket bagged the first prize followed by AIS -46 as the runner ups.

„ Clean India Mission‟

Our School undertook a cleanliness drive with the aim to sensitize children on different aspects of hy-giene and safe sanitation. The drive was inspired by the Swachch Bharat Abhiyan launched by the Sh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Cleanliness in the school, surroundings , play areas, personal hygiene were the key themes of the ‘ Amity Swachch Mission’ which were executed in the school. Students participated in a wide range of activities like Show and tell activity on the topic ‘Healthy Hab-its’. The participants made beautiful poster and collage on topics like Personal Hygiene and ‘ Swachch Bharat , Swachch Vidyalaya’ to spread awareness among people about the importance of clean and green surroundings. Students also participated in class cleaning campaign and watched inspirational vid-eos on the importance of cleanliness. The students pledged to minimize the use of polythene bags, wastage less paper and dustbin usage in the school, maintain cleanliness in classrooms and playgrounds. The school Head, Mrs. Arti Chopra also motivated students to make best efforts to spread the message on cleanliness.

School's Conference 2015 “Creating Thinking Schools” on 14th February

2015.The chief guest of the day was Lt. Gen. A.K. Singh, Lt. Governor of

the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The team got to attend the sessions

on Creativity and Innovation, Creating Thinking Classrooms, Role of Tech-

nology in education and Personality development and Building self confi-

dence.

We rocked once again by steering ahead in all games and winning the championship trophy for Overall Excellence in Inter Amity Sports!!

Our School hosted a Panel Discussion held on Friday, 6th February, 2015 hosted by Team AdventAge. The focus of the discussion was on raising awareness regarding the habitual health of the geriatrics, thus foreseeing a noticeable difference in the life expectancy of the aged of the nation.

The discussion was atteneded by eminent people of the society like Kamlesh Gill who is an Indian actor of Hindi films, best known for the films Vicky Donor, Bang Bang! and PK. Rotarian Bhargava: A renowned Rotarian who is actively involved in social service and strongly believes in the moto “service before

self . Dr. Meena Gupta: who is a wellness-Counsellor,Therapist and Trainer in India and abroad. The guests were felicitated by the Principal Ms. Arti Chopra.Through this Panel Discussion the stu-dents of the Team AdventAge tried to bring home the varied viewpoints of people from different walks of life. Some of the key highlights of the discussion were the involvement of the elderly people in the day to day chores of the life. Each one believed in the slogan "Retired but not tired".

The Youth Power team of AISG- 46 , met Gaurav Sawant ,deputy editor , Headlines Today, to sensitise on the social issue cause of Physical and mental health of the aged. The team along with the teacher incharge Devyani Kapoor included Abhavya Roshan, Prisha Singh, Jatin Sethi, Rajul Yadav and Beenal Dhadwal.

GTSE The GLOBAL TALENT SEARCH EXAMINATION or GTSE was conceptualised to awaken the scien-

tific temperament in talented young students. It is outcome of the Amity philosophy based on a strongly

held belief and one which is put into action everyday by every member of Amity.

GTSE examination was first held on November 23rd 2006. GTSE is being conducted for

all classes from 1st to 12th.

ISO Competition is a scholastic test where importance is given to life skills, personality as well as academics. It is a good platform to show cases the tal-ent hidden in the students. This year 350 schools and 475000 students participated in this mega event. They were evaluated at three levels- Primary , Middle and Secondary. Gurekas Singh of Vth F of AIS 46 has bagged the trophy by becoming the National Topper at the primary level. Moreover, there are three school toppers as well. Shikar Srivastava of 4rth J, Rohit Sreeram of 6th C and Koyena Ray of 7th C are school toppers . On the whole Genxt Foundation has done a good job by tapping the hidden talent in the students.

National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is a national level scholorship program in India to identify and recognize students with high intellect and academic talent. It is one of the most prestigious exams in India. Only students studying in Class X are eligble to appear for selection process. Aheli Ghosh of X-F of AIS-46 has qualified first round of NTSE

Amity 46 School Band students....feeling so

proud and honoured on winning accolades CBSE Workshop on Pedagogy Strategies-

Teachers

AIS-46, Gurgaon hosted the CBSE Pedagogy strate-

gies on 21st February 2015. This Endeavour of excel-

lence saw the coming of very influential resource per-

sons who captivated and enlightened the audience with

valuable insights and information on Pedagogy strate-

gies .Ms Kalpana Kapoor who has been a Master

Trainer for Life Skills, School Health Program and

CCE across the country. With this experience she has

also worked on CBSE Manuals related to CCE, Life

Skills, School Health Program and created Books till

class V.

Ms Kalpana Kapoor addressed the gathering that com-

prised of teachers from class VI-X Teachers were up-

graded on various ways and means to identify and de-

velop various life skills such as self- awareness, deci-

sion making, problem solving, critical thinking and

interpersonal communication skills in their students.

Thus it was an enriching and interactive session in

which teachers greatly enjoyed, dispelled their myths

and mysteries relating to pedagogy strategies and

emerged better equipped to take on their little

worlds of the classroom.
