MERTZ FAMILY HOUSE FIRE

We, the family of Albert Mertz, wish to express our gratitude and

sincere thanks for all donations large and small after the recent

fire in the home. One adult and three young children have been

successfully relocated, fully furnished, and are beginning to put

their lives back together after the loss of the home. For that, we

are extremely humbled and grateful for the quick response. One of

Albert’s adult children, though not relocated at this time, has all

basic necessities for a successful relocation to a new home. Al-

bert’s wife and youngest child continue to live with Mr. and Mrs.

Matthew Shoop at this time, and until they are able to relocate it is

unknown what further donations will be needed. Again, we wish

to express our deep gratitude to our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Thank you for your continued prayers, as we keep you in ours.

Respect Life Representatives and friends…In preparation to

march as a Diocese with Bishop Ed at the March for Life

2018, the Albany Diocese is in the process of putting together a

listing of bus locations. The busses and contact information will

be available for the public at registration. When the listing is

complete, the diocese will make it available for all of the par-

ishes to promote, and use as a resource. If you know of any

parishes or locations that may be sending busses to the March

for Life 2018, that would be available to the public for registra-

tion, please notify:

Reflection: On July 25, 2017, Pope Paul VI issued Humanae

Vitae, which means, “Of Human Life.” That encyclical out-

lines the Church’s vision of human life, marriage, and the

connection between love and the creative action of God.

Love leads to life; it does not close it off. Love welcomes life;

it is not afraid of it. Love and life go together because they

are two aspects of the one God. Prayer: Lord God, You are

love and You are life. Open all people to Your love so that

they may give life. - Fr. Frank Pavone
