At a meeting ,of (lie Board of Police of the Police Department of The City of New York held on the it day of June, iS92. Present-Commissioners York (President), Sexton and Iless. The minutes of May 27 were read and approved. Communication from the Counsel to the Corporation, relative to case of Andrew C. Egan, was referred to the Chief Clerk to answer. Supreme Court, c tneens County-The People ex rcl. Strong against Leonard Ruolff, Jr.- Order and consent. Referred to the Superintendent of Elections. Resolved, That the action of this Board in denying application for appointment of P. McDonough, as Special Patrolman, on April 13, 1898, be rescinded, and that said P. McDonough l,e and is hereby appointed Special Patrolman in the service of Journeay & Burnham. Resolved, That 11es,rs. '1'. J. Oakley Rhinelander and Philip Rhinelander, donors of the " Rhinelander Medal for Valor," he and are hereby respectfully invited to attend the review of the Police Force by his Honor the Mayor, at the Worth Monument, at 4 o'clock 1p. at., June 1, 1898, on which occasion the 1' Rhinelander Medal for Valor " will be given to Patrolman Frederick L. Stahl, Fifteenth Precinct, for meritorious conduct at a fire, No. 261 East Houston street, January 2, 1897. Resolved, That the returns in the cases of Francis Mchaigney and Charles \V. Sturges be verified by the signatures of the President and Chief Clerk and forwarded to the Counsel to the Corporation. On motion of Commissioner Sexton, it was Resolved, That Commissioner Jacob liess be elected Treasurer of the Police Board. Commissioners York, Sexton and Hess voting aye. Resolved, That the bond of the Treasurer of the Police Board be and the same is fixed at the sum of twenty thousand dollars. Resolved, That the bond of the Treasurer of the Police Board, as Treasurer of the Police Pension Fund, be fixed at the sum of one hundred thousand dollars. Resolved, That the pay-rolls of Temporary Clerks in the Bureau of Elections, amounting to seven thousand seven hundred and seventy dollars and twenty-seven cents, be and are hereby approved, and the Treasurer authorized to pay the same. covering Janitor's cottage at the Jerome Park Reservoir front May 21 to August 21, IS9S, in the sum of $5,000, which cottage is being constructed by said contractors under contract with the Aqueduct Commissioners, be transmitted to the Comptroller.

The Construction or Executive Committee referred the following to the Board A communication of the Chief Engineer submitting a bill in favor of Ctmtractor Johu Twinamc

Also, requesting authority to purchase the following articles nece,sary for the completion of the machinery used for handling the water at Shafts Nos. 25 and 24 and at the dams built by the Aqueduct Commissioners, viz. :

First—Fitting thirty-two of the gates already in place with ball-bearings to faciliate the work. ing thereof ; approximate cost, $1,600.

Second—Supplying duplicate covers and other pieces for Shafts Nos. 22, 23, 24 and 25 estimated cost, $1,500.

Third—Providing brackets, platf rms and railings for the hoisting gear at Shalt No. 25 ; esti-mated cost, $300.

Commissioner Ryan moved that the consideration of the above communications in relation to the purchases be postponed until the next meeting.

The rates of ferriage and charges for vehicles and freight shall not exceed the rates now charged.

The form of lease which the purchaser will be required to execute can be seen at the office of the Board of Docks.

The right to reject any bid is reserved if deemed by the Board of Docks to be for the best interests of the City.
