The City ’s excit ing Christmas calendar officially kicks off with luminosity, splendour and sparkle on 29 November with the Lighting of the Brisbane City Christmas Tree at King George Square, with festivities continuing right through until Christmas Eve!

St Mall to admire, the 10-day Myer Christmas Parade & Pantomime to enjoy, South Bank’s Bright Star Carols featuring stars of The Voice Australia Harrison Craig and Luke Kennedy PLUS, for the first time ever, the Gold Lotto City Hall Light Spectacular which will see Brisbane City Hall agleam with a mesmerising 3D animated light show.

With over 180 events and 500 per formances for the ent i re family to enjoy, an entire menu of mouth-watering Festive Feasts (see page 4) AND Queensland’s largest selection of Christmas gifts, you can’t go past The City and South Bank this Christmas season.

Gather in King George Square from 6.30pm on Friday 29 November for the much-loved annual tradition of the lighting of the Brisbane City Christmas Tree. Join Brisbane’s Lord Mayor Graham Quirk, Santa and a host of special guests as they bring to life the Southern Hemisphere’s largest solar-powered Christmas Tree and the Queen St Mall’s all-new Christmas decorations.

Enjoy family-fun entertainment – including your favourite Christmas carols – culminating in the lighting of the tree at approximately 7pm. And the fun doesn’t end there! The tree will shine its twinkly lights every n ight unt i l Box ing Day, so make sure you pop by to catch a glimpse and a happy snap to treasure.

The Myer Christmas Parade & Pantomime makes a highly anticipated return to the CBD this year and sees The City and Queensland Ballet partnering to bring the spirit of a timeless Christmas classic – The Nutcracker – from QPAC stage to Brisbane CBD streets.

T h e h i g h - e n e r g y P a r a d e & Pantomime, starring over 200 talented performers and featuring 3m, 4m, and 5m-high 3D floating Christmas ornaments, will run from 6.30pm daily. The Parade will kick off at the Edward St end of the Queen St Mall, led by Clara from Queensland Ballet’s The Nutcracker, and travel through the Mall to King George Square where an exciting all-singing, all-dancing Pantomime will be staged.

See Brisbane’s grand dame as you have never seen her before – agleam and aglow with the magic and beauty of Christmas. Brisbane City Hall’s clock tower will sound

across The City signalling the start of a spectacular 3D animated show. Magically projected onto Brisbane City Hal l wi l l be a fantast ica l Clockwork Christmas Toy Factory. Here the icon of Brisbane Christmas 2013 – the Nutcracker doll – is made and meets Clara the doll and an enchanting collection of Christmas characters and toys. Be sure to stick around for the grand finale – a toy rocket from Santa’s Clockwork Christmas Toy Factory launching itself into the Christmas night sky and showering City Hall in magic dust.
