BabylonBabylon is a city that was ones ruled by an Amorite family. The King of Babylon is a man called Hammurabi. Around 730BC, Babylon became part of the Assyrian empire. In 625BC, a Babylonian called Nabopolassarbecame king. He and his son, Nebuchadnezzar II, ruebuilt Babylon.

HammurabiHammurabi, the the first king of Babylon, had differrent rules. Some of the rules were that if a surgeon carried out an operation that killed the patient, he had his hand cut off. Also, if a man owed money to someone but he doesn´t have, he could lend his wife as a slave.

Hanging gardenNebuchadnezzar II build a giant building callea the Hanging garden.This is were he lived. He made it for her wife because she missed her home.

ReligionThe Babylonians had a New Year Festival in which the took out a statue of their god Marduk. It lasted 11 days. People could see the statue in the battlements.

GodsThe most important gods that they belived in were Marduk, which they say he created the world building a raft on the ocean and putting dust on it and Ishtar, the goddess of love and war.

Trade and transportBabylonians nedded to trade because they needed natural items from other lands. The carried the items on foot, donkey, raft, coracle, golf boat and cart.

The end of BabylonIn the end, at 539BC, the Persians invaded Babylon and became part of it.
