The City of Paris has an estimated population of 2,153,600 within its administrative limits.  However, the Paris unite urbaine is an area of unbroken urban growth that extends well beyond the administrative city limits and has an estimated population of over 9,500,000.  A commuter belt completes the Paris aire urbaine that, with its population of an estimated 12,000,000 is one of the most populated areas of its kind in Europe.

You couldn't possibly visit Paris without seeing the Eiffel Tower. Even if you do not want to visit this world famous structure, you will see its top from all over Paris. The tower rises 300 meters tall (984 ft); when it was completed at the end of the 19th century it was twice as high as the washing monument at the time the tallest structure in the world. The Eiffel Tower was built for the World Exhibition in 1889, held in celebration of the French Revolution in 1789.The Eiffel tower ways over 10000 tons. A simple yeast-risen dough, layered with butter, cut into a triangle and rolled up like a scroll so that the centre bulges and the ends taper out. Traditionally, the unbaked croissant was then curved into a crescent shape, though nowadays croissants are often left straight. Typical ingredients include wheat flour, water, milk, yeast, salt, sugar, butter and egg.
