The College of International Education (CIE)
The CIE, a self-financing unit of the Hong Kong Baptist
University managed by the School of Continuing Education,
offers a two-year full-time Associate Degree Course on
campus to serve the diversified needs of post-secondary
school students. Through a broad-based and innovative
curriculum, the CIE aims to develop the full range of abilities
of students and equip them either for employment or for
continued study in local or overseas universities.
Highlights of Outstanding Student Achievement
◆ 241 students graduated in July 2002 were awarded
Associate of Arts and Associate of Science by Hong
Kong Baptist University
◆ Some of the graduates continued their studies at
prestigious overseas universities including Michigan
State University, the University of Oregon, the University
of Adelaide, the University of Queensland and the
University of Western Australia
◆ Graduates with excellent academic performance were
awarded several scholarships at HKBU and one
graduate received the Excellence Award granted by the
University of Oregon
◆ 24 students were selected as members of various sports
teams of the University
◆ 3 students were honoured as the "Most Valuable Players"
at the Dr. Lam Chi Fung Memorial Cup (Athletics) Prize
Presentation Ceremony. One of them was awarded the
Dr. Daniel CW Tse Athletic Scholarship (2001-2002)

Teaching Approach
In order to enhance learning effectiveness, a variety of

The CIE Student Society (CIESS) was officially established
in March 2001 to organize recreational and educational
activities to enhance students' College life as well as to serve
as an effective communication channel between the College
and the students.

Building, organizes a wide range of activities, such as an
orientation camp, book re-sale, singing contests and ball
games.
