FIRST SKI SCHOOL IN ITALYFounded in 1933.

Scuola Sci Cortina was founded in 1933 in Corti-na d’Ampezzo, the Queen of the Dolomites and is the first ski school in Italy that was officially recognised by the Fisi. We are one of the largest and one of the most important ski schools in Italy. Scuola Sci Cortina plays a leading role in the local economy and has become an important reference point in the touristic sector in Cortina. The school can rely on more than 80 years of experience and can offer a range of 140 ski in-structors and among them there are 30 female ski instructors. Our ski instructors are trained in

teaching alpine ski as well as snowboard, freeride, freestyle and telemark and they can speak En-glish, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Rus-sian and Chinese. A ski instructor is an educator, who is able to get out the natural talents of each skier by giving him the right opportunity to dis-cover his own potentialities. In this way he helps his pupils to discover new personal capabilities but also the amazing environment that surrounds the Dolomites mountains.This is the philosophy of our school and thanks to our 130 ski instructors we can guarantee a wide range of opportunities and high professionality in the magic scenario that surrounds Cortina, in the heart of the Dolomites.

During summertime, even if the snow is gone, the Scuola Sci Cortina is always on.Thanks to our association, La Rossa Cortina made of our ski instructors, we can offer you a wonder-ful time through many different activities starting from the first days of June until the end of Sep-tember, for children from 3 to 15 years. Our days are made out of sport, funny moments, games, experiencing the nature of our mountains, mead-ows and lakes. Hiking, biking, exploring, trekking, climbing, swimming, playing golf and more... Fiames Cross-country ski centre is located at Fia-mes, 5 km north of Cortina.

The Centre houses the ski school office, with qual-ified instructors, all of them former racers, where you can book individual and group lessons, for all age groups.

The Centre provides also rental services where you can hire all the necessary ski equipment (shoes, skis, and poles).

Here is the head start of several, perfectly groomed ski tracks of various lengths and difficul-ties, both for classic and skating techniques.

You may either choose to follow the 30 km-long “former railway line” track from Cortina as far as Dobbiaco, or one of the several loops of different lengths that go through a stunning environment with breathtaking views, in the Natural Park of the Ampezzo Dolomites.

The Centre offers also a snack bar, right at the start of the ski tracks, and changing rooms with hot shower facilities.
