“Survive. Don’t Drive.”Studies have found about 50% of heart attack patients either drive themselves or have someone drive them to the hospital in the midst of a heart attack. In the process, they risk delays in diagnosis and life-saving treatments to restore blood flow to dying heart muscle. Every minute that a person delays in getting medical treatment increases the likelihood of damage or even death to heart muscle.

“Survive. Don’t Drive.” is an education on the importance of calling 911 when experiencing symptoms of heart attack or stroke.

Objectives:• Educate local populations on the high incidence of heart attacks that drove themselves to

the hospital.• Inform local populations on the signs and symptoms of heart attack

and stroke.• Inform local populations on the collaboration with the

Emergency Department, Cath Lab, and local EMS.• Educate local populations that time is muscle!
