Dear Key Clubbers,
Hello everyone! Hopefully all of
you are having a fantastic start to your sum-
mer! If you have not already noticed, a
switch has actually been made. My name is
Tiffanie Ignacio and I am now currently
Coronado Key Club’s new Bulletin Editor
for 2012-2013!
Before we get down to business,
here's a little about myself– I love making
videos and taking pictures. I literally docu-
ment my entire life and especially the years
I’ve been in Key Club! I actually made quite
a few videos for my club already! I’m also an
upcoming Senior for this year, so hopefully
I’ll be able to live up my last year to its full-
est!
But enough about me ...and lets
move onto some past and future events.
This following issue of “The Cougar Claw”
will include the following: South Youth
Relay for Life, Kiwanis Key Leader, and
Vice President Elect.
Hopefully my first issue has shown
great interest to you and continue to read-
on if so! Thank you all and enjoy this
months newsletter! Enjoy your sum-
mer!
Sincerely,
Tiffanie Ignacio

“This was my first time attend-
ing relay for life, and I know for a
fact that I WILL be attending this
event again this upcoming year. Not
only was I able to spend 12 hours
camping outside with my dearest
friends, but I was also able to help
raise money to find the cure for cancer. It was an emotional roller-
coaster ride throughout the night from listening to the heartfelt
speeches given by survivors to laughing with my friends as we hud-
dled around together in the cold. I mean, there was a big group of
us freezing our butts off while we tried to share one thin blanket. It
was all worth it in the end though for this is one unforgettable
night.”
“My experience at Relay could
be described as something very
memorable. It had been my first
relay, and from what my friends
told me beforehand, I was extreme-
ly excited to go. When the opening
ceremonies started, I remember
listening to the stories, and as they
walked down the track; I remember cheering them on along with
my friends. Despite the cold weather, I had fun either way. Dur-
ing the Luminaria ceremony, I thought it was a very touching
and beautiful experience, seeing the lights form the word Hope
was something very memo-
rable.“

“I can't wait to start working with the board this year,
and I'm really thankful that I got the Vice President posi-
tion. I plan on making members more educated on Key
Club, and make them realize that it's more than just a club!
It may sound a bit cliche, but it's true. I want to be able to
balance service and fun in our club. Overall, I'm just really
excited for everything this year. I want to make the best out
of it. “

“THIS was my second time going to Key leader and I
must say it was just as inspirational and amazing as my first
time. Key Leader has always been the event that changed me as
an individual. I truly love Key Leader. Key Leader a second time
was very different but it was still an event that inspires many to
achieve and reach for their goals. The experience of learning
leadership, teamwork, integrity was just astonishing. The friend-
ships made there were so unique; a camp filled with strangers
turning out to be the best of friends at the end of the weekend.
A simple paragraph cannot explain how amazing Key Leader is.
Key Leader is just indescribable.”

“Solarbration was held on June 21st at
the Henderson Events Plaza. Solarbration was held to
celebrate the Summer Solstice which is the longest day
of the year bringing the start of Summer. I started my
shift by setting up the plaza since some of the tents had
blown away on the street. Although it was a setback,
this did not stop the volunteers from hosting the
event! After we set up again, I was assigned to help
prepare food for the volunteers and those who were
part of Solarbration. Along with two members of
Cimmaron-Memorial High School Key Club, we
prepared snacks like oranges and cheese and crack-
ers. We then handed out water and passed around
the snack to people of Solarbration! Although it
was hot outside, the event brought new friends and
new experiences! “
