RECHARGE BIBLE STUDY… While we are taking a break from Recharge Bible Study during the month of July it is time to start looking forward to what we will be doing in the fall. If you have attended recharge in the past then you know a little about what we do, but if you’ve never been then let me introduce you to Wednesday night Recharge Bible Study. Recharge is a time to join with your friends and neighbors for a time of fellowship and strengthening the bonds between us; it is a time to read and study together God’s word in an effort to deepen both our understanding, and our commitment to our Lord and Savior. We always share concerns and joys and lift prayers together, and many times we will join our voices in a time of singing praise to God our Father. My prayer is that Recharge will be a time when we can praise/worship God together, pray together, laugh together, and together wrestle with His word as we walk together along our journeys of faith. On Wednesday, August 7, our weekly Bible study will resume. Our first study however, will be something a little bit different. Rather than working our way through a book of the Bible, or exploring a particular topic related to our faith, you will be invited to join a 40 Day Prayer Challenge. We will be using Mark Batterson’s book, Draw the Circle: The 40 Day Prayer Challenge to guide us through this time of prayer and study. In this devotion book Mark challenges us to discover the power of bold prayer, and even bolder faith in God’s promises. By starting this study on August 7 we will wrap up our 40 Day Prayer Challenge on the Sunday of Homecoming, and the beginning of our Revival! Participants in this study will need to have a copy of Mark Batterson’s book, Draw The Circle: The 40 Day Prayer Challenge. The book sells for about $9.50 and is available at many Christian book stores, or on-line. And as we look ahead, following this 40 Day Prayer Challenge and our revival, we will plan to kick off a new study on Wednesday, October 2. Our study beginning in October will be an exploration of the book of Revelation…which should be loads of fun for everyone involved!
