Listed herein we offer the FINEST in Daffodils, 1058 varieties including 127 outstanding new varieties brought in from abroad last year. Ail varieties on this list may be seen growing .at our Nurseries in Gloucester and, Mathews Counties, Virginia. PRICES, especially on most novelty types have been considerably reduced, and are for TOP size double nosed bulbs. (do not be led astray by cheap of-fers which are usually for small inferior bulbs). All are guaranteed true to name and are Certified by the State Entomologist and his Inspectors as free from disease. The grower of these outstanding varieties has had many years experience with Daffodils, which include 20 years as farm manager for one of the Largest Dutch growers of fine daf fodils.

Virginia grown Daffodils, planted in the North bloom two to three weeks earlier than those grown in the cooler Northern climate. Flowering this much earlier they have a chance to develop slowly and fully while the weather is still cool. This is important with the highly colored reds, oranges and especially so with the pinks and many deli-cate shadings that are seldom seen when flowers open late in the season during warm bright weather.

Digging of bulbs must be completed in July, and some varieties on this list will not be dug unless ordered. It is therefore Important that orders be sent in EARLY. A 5% discount in bulbs (my selection) will be given on all or-ders received before 31 July. Shipment of bulbs will be made early in September. In the Middle Atlantic states plant bulbs deep enough so the neck o the bulb is covered with 3 or 4 inches of earth after the ground has settled. In the more Northern states 4 or 5 inches is de-sirable, while in the Southern states 2 or 3 inches is suf-ficient. BUSHEL BARGAINS

If not on our mailing list write for DAFFODILS ON PARADE in July, a descriptive list of over 400 varieties, also comments on the 1952 blooming season; we will then have completed digging and know what we can offer in quantity by the bushel.

FALL BLOOMING BULBS

Shipped by us in. June ONLY and should be planted immediately. Usually available in Seed Stores during Octo-ber. Planted that late their chance of survival, especially in the north, is slim. Large plantings are to be seen at Colonial Williamsburg.

STERNBERGIA LU_LEA — Large bright yellow crocus like flowers on 6 to 8 inch stems appear in mid September. $2.50 per dozen.

LYCORIS RADIATA (Red Spicier Lily) — Large cir-cular clusters of bright red flowers on 2 foot spikes appear almost over night in mid September. A long lasting beautiful cut flower for the house, or a stunning item in the garden. The foliage appears in October and is a welcome spot of deep green in the garden all winter, disappearing in the spring. $3.00 per dozen.

Both these items resent transplanting, especially if done at the wrong time, but will increase rapidly if left undisturbed. Radiata is especially touchy and care must be taken when digging not to break the thick fleshy roots which are never dormant, and take a year to replace if broken.

Allow 50 cents for postage unless order amounts to $5.00 or over.

NEW VARIETIES (about 125) are emphasized by CAPITOL LETTERS. Those not readily identifiable under their regular classifications are listed below for your con-venience.

Dwarf or Rockery types. Angie, Artie Morn, Beebop, Bobby-soxer, Bulb. Tenuifolius, Goldsithiney, Halingy, Ivory Gate, Lobularis, Odorato, Phyllis Garth, Pulchellus, Queen Anne, Rip van Winkle, Rosedown, Rupicola, Tean, Watieri and it.

Pinks. Flush, Lorelei, Ping Blush and Roseana.

Former giant Leeds. Bellona, Cardigan Lagonda, Lame, Milk and Cream, Milkmaid.

Former small Leeds. Lough Areema.

If interested in Daffodils not appearing, write for quota Mans. We grow over 300 varieties which are omitted from this list.

We will gladly order copies of the DAFFODIL AND TULIP YEAR BOOK published by the Royal Horticulturial Society in London each autumn, price $2.25 per copy.

At the present time we have a small stock of the current R. H. S. Classified List of Daffodil Names, price $1.25 each.
