Buckeye Trail’s Streiff to participatein Blue-Grey Super Regional Combine
CANTON — Buckeye Trail High senior Carter Streiff will have an oppor-tunity to showcase his skills on the gridiron on Saturday in the Blue-Grey Super Regional Combine in Canton at the NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Streiff took part in a required Pre-Combine event at Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati in April and qualified to take part in Saturday’s Super Regional Combine.
Blue-Grey Football was established in 1989 and the founders were Gus Bell and his son Erik Bell. Together, they estab-lished the brand to help prep prospects from all over the country receive national exposure and increase their chances to secure scholarships to a college, whether that be at the NCAA Division I level, or II, III, IV, NAIA or Junior College.
Fast forward, and today, Blue-Grey Football proudly hosts close to 20 All-American Combines (Regional and Super lev-els) at venues all over the country with most taking place inside stadiums and practice facilities that are home to teams from the NFL.
Streiff is a three-year starter for the Warriors at running back and safety, last season as a junior he
was plagued with inju-ries and still managed to record 38 tackles with one interception. During his sophomore season Streiff collected five intercep-tions with four defen-sive touchdowns includ-ing three coming against River Highon a pair of interception returns and a fumble recovery.
Streiff has been voted by his teammates and coach-es to serve as a team cap-tain for the 2015 season as well as the upcoming season where he will play H-back on offense and free safety on defense for the Warriors under first-year Buckeye Trail head coach Donnie Kerns.
“Carter is one of those hard-working kids and its great to see him get this type of opportunity,” Kerns offered. “It gives him some good exposure as well as our Buckeye Trail football program so its a real good thing for
everybody.”Competing athletes who
do well when given the opportunity during these workouts in front of our coaching staff comprised of NFL veterans, as well as team of experienced scouts, and recruits are selected to participate in the exclusive invite-only Blue-Grey All-American Bowls.
On a yearly basis, the best of best meet on the biggest stages around: East vs. West at Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium, North vs. South at Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Raymond James Stadium and Blue vs. Grey at Jacksonville Jaguars’ EverBank Field.
The draw of Blue-Grey Football contin-ues to grow. And grow. Accordingly, the annual All-American Bowls have become must-see events with college coaches from all over the country attend-ing the games, and before-hand, the nationwide All-American Combines.
Fox Sports, CBS Sports and USA Today are media members who routinely provide coverage, along with ESPN.com, Scout.com, Rivals.com and 247Sports.com. Bottom line: Gus Bell and Erik Bell discovered a winning formula with Blue-Grey Football.

BELMONT, Mich. (AP) — Defending champion Lexi Thompson shot a 6-under 65 on Thursday for a share of the Meijer LPGA Classic lead, with Brooke Henderson, Lydia Ko and Ariya Jutanugarn close behind.
The 21-year-old Thompson played the front nine — her final nine at Blythefield — in 6 under. After parring the first nine holes, she holed out from 71 yards with a lob wedge for eagle on the par-5 first and birdied Nos. 3-5 and 8 — playing the three front-nine par 5s in 4 under.
“I had a slow start for my first nine there on the back, but hit it very well and then got on a birdie run there on my second nine,” said Thompson, ranked fourth in the world. “It's definite-ly playing a little bit softer, so the greens are more receptive than last year. It was a lot firmer last year. The course was playing tough at one point because it got pretty windy.”
She was tied for the lead with 52-year-old Laura Davies, Sei Young Kim, Carlota Ciganda and Paula Reto. U.S. Women's Open champion In Gee Chun was at 66 along with So Yeon Ryu, Jodi Ewart Shadoff, Jaclyn Jansen, Alena Sharp, Amelia Lewis and Q Baek.
