Seller InsightThe quiet, pretty, traditional village of Loose has its own rural individuality. There are several historic villages dotted around and here, in the heart of this particularly lovely village, is this beautiful family home. Several generations of the same family have lived in this special

home, all having many recollections of their idyllic childhood whilst living here.

The popular village has many delights, not least of which is the Loose Stream meandering through, and is the venue for several popular annual events, whilst the friendly pub, is an excellent venue for socialising. There is a primary school here but, with Maidstone being nearby, a comprehensive range of educational opportunities are conveniently close. Maidstone has everything required from quality supermarkets to individual shops, restaurants and bars, together with access to gyms and sporting facilities. Train journeys into the capital are stress free and major road links are excellent. The undulating Kentish countryside is often understated by travellers passing through to Le Shuttle, or to the nearby channel ports, but it is a stunning county, with an extraordinary landscape, which is a joy to explore.

Parts of this visually beautiful house date back to the mid 1500s, and it has seen many additions throughout the centuries, all of which meld beautifully together to reflect its fascinating history and tradition. First and foremost, it has been a magnificent family house for all the generations of this family. A convenient, highly versatile, home, with plenty of space to pursue interests and hobbies and a wonderful home to share with everyone who visits. The living room enjoys a special outlook onto the garden. It is light and bright and, as with many of the rooms, features lovely beams. This charming space has often been the focus for entertaining and and family gatherings. In winter, especially at Christmas the fireplace creates a warm focal point to relax and toast muffins. The garden surrounding the house offers a beautiful backdrop from many rooms. It is full of variety and interest and certainly space in which to enjoy relaxation on the patio. It features spacious lawns, herbaceous plantings, areas for fruit and vegetable growing, but the small, enchanting, stream which runs through the garden has always been popular for the children of the family. Molly created the extensive gardens of the Dairy House and often celebrated her birthday by holding a garden party. Guests would stroll around the herbaceous borders and relax in the shade of the old apple and quince trees. Conversations would flow all around old house and its gardens as people unwound in the atmosphere created by this special place.

Sadly it is time for children of the family to say farewell to this family home. Geographically, it is not possible for them to live here but the house and village will forever have a special place in their hearts.*

This wonderful detached period property is located within the heart of a quite stunning picturesque village that sits on the rural fringes of Maidstone. The property itself is believed to have origins that date from the 16th Century and has enjoyed many uses such as a miller’s store, a dairy and a beer house. The current family have been in residence since the 1970’s and extended the property in the early years of their ownership. The property fully deserves the sympathetic improvements that are now required.

The property sits towards the centre of the village with a nearby church and historic public house. The village is also served by a junior, infant and secondary school. Grammar Schools are found in nearby Maidstone and private school facilities at nearby Sutton Valence. For those that may wish to commute to work, mainline rail services can be accessed within central Maidstone or Staplehurst, which is a simple drive to the south. The motorway network is also easily accessible with the nearest junction being found at Leeds Castle (M20 Junction 8).
