Homework Grading Policy Homework is an important part of social studies class. It is used to reinforce concepts taught in class as well as to help teach responsibility. Homework prepares you for class and group work. Homework is a grading category on your report card.

• Homework will be assigned at every class. • You are allowed three missed homework assignments without penalty for the

academic year. • If you miss three homework assignments, you will receive a failing grade for that

assignment. • Make up homework from absences are the only late homework will be accepted.

*E-Mailed assignments will not be accepted. All work should be submitted in class to the teacher.

You are still responsible for knowing the material covered in the homework assignments not completed.

Grading Policy

Tests & Projects 40% Quizzes 20% Homework 20% Group work & participation 15% Notebook 5%

My grade book is available on Jupiter- Grades.

Absences

• If you are absent, it will be your responsibility to obtain missed notes from a classmate. (Make sure you get a classmates phone number).

• You will have two days to make up the missed assignments. • Check the designated folder for any worksheets or handouts that may have been

distributed.

Class Participation Class participation means taking an active role in your learning, and the learning of your fellow classmates. You must pay attention and be involved in class at all times. I determine your class participation grade by looking for some key indicators:

• Is your body language positive? • Are you involved in the discussion or activity? • Do you stay on task? • Are you making positive contributions to our learning environment?
