How the Challenge Works

The David Conner Challenge for Asia will match all new, increased, or renewed annual gifts from alumni, parents, and friends who reside in Asia, until the $250,000 challenge is met. The challenge will match up to $10,000 per year, per donor. Gifts may be directed to the school or program of your choice, and any gift may be designated for scholarship support.

The David Conner Challenge for Asia

David Conner, AB ’74, has established a $250,000 challenge to encourage new and increased gifts from alumni, parents, and

friends of Washington University who reside in Asia. This generous challenge supports the Annual Fund, a vital component of Leading Together: The Campaign for Washington University.

Each year, tuition and income from endowments covers only a portion of the university’s operating revenue. The Annual Fund is essential to help bridge the gap. The unrestricted resources provided by the Annual Fund allow the university to invest in new initiatives and respond immediately where need is the greatest.

Gifts to the Annual Fund support the university’s most important priorities:

• Scholarships and fellowships• Faculty teaching and research• Student research• Student life• Technology and the libraries• The learning environment
