In celebration of Black History Month, PBS has begun an on-air lineup commemorating the contributions of African Americans in music, dance, television and civil rights, providing an in-depth look at key figures and events that shaped black — and American — history. In addition to these programs, PBS announced it will launch the PBS Black Culture Connection, a digital storybook of black films, history, trends and discussion that’s available throughout the year on PBS.org.

EASTER PLAY AUDITIONS
The Drama Ministry has begun preparations for its annual Easter production and is looking for budding actors and actresses of all ages to participate. An open casting call will be held February 3 after the 10:30 worship service in the portable. A second audition is February 10, 2013 after 10:30
a.m. service in the “Beige House” (property adjacent to the Walter Davis Center).
Play rehearsals will be held each Sunday after 10:30 a.m. worship from February 17th through March 17th. The final dress rehearsal is Thursday, March 21st at 7:00 p.m. Questions? Contact Robert Pellette at (512) 775-8509.

Please consider donating your talents to Family Enrichment Week this summer.
Volunteers are needed in the following areas: Oikos Leaders, Shopkeeper/Market
Place, Arena Games, Drama Team, Decorations, Set-up, Clean-up, and Community Outreach/Publicity.
Sign-up cards are available behind the pews in the sanctuary and can be placed in the offering tray or in
the VBS mail slot by the church offices. FEW leaders Rev. Cedric Mitchell and Sis. Pamela Mitchell are
also available to answer any questions or discuss other ways you may be able to serve.

The Lois Upton Cold Weather Shelter is in need of volunteers for the following Wednesdays: February 8th, February 15th, and February 22nd. Please consider lending your skills to this important program that ensures those without a home have a warm, safe place to sleep on cold nights. A sign-up sheet and a representative will be available after both the 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. worship service in the Fellowship Hall.
