When he came to Hollywood to work on the film he bought his first Porsche 356 Speedster convertible white one
During this time Dean filmed Giant (Dean joined later as filming was finishing Rebel Without a Cause), George Stevens, with Rock Hudson
While working at Giant, Dean bought a Porsche 550 Spyder, nicknamed "Little Bastard" by Bill Hickman
On 30 September 1955 the Porsche hooked his truck to carry Motors Competition
While Dean was driving his Porsche at a moderate speed on the road, accompanied by his mechanic, approached him at the crossroads 41-46, in the town of Cholame, California, a high-speed Ford, driven by a student.
Dean tried to avoid it, but couldn’t. It slammed against the left side Ford and broke his neck in the crash, instantly losing his life September 30, 1955, at the age of 24 years.
The driver of the Ford, who only broke his nose and injured his shoulder, died of cancer in 1995,
While Dean's mechanic was thrown from the car, shattered a leg and broke his jaw, but died later in a car accident in Germany (1981)
