You are also free to come up with your own attention grabber, just make surethat they still communicate the AIESEC brand.

Option 1: Professional vs Fun

1 Guy in formal clothes + 1 guy in casual, give out Talk about professionaldevelopment of AIESEC and fun side of AIESEC.Suited to large business core subject lectures

Suited to large business related core subject lectures * Unfortunately, our LC will not subsidy for this cost ^^!

Option 3: Differentiator

‘Everyone, look at person on your left, look …right, look behind. What differentiates youfrom all those people sitting next to you?’

Option 4: Hold up relevant TN form, describe it. Ask if anyone is interested and startpitching.

Option 5: Dots I

Introduce yourself“May I test your fantasy?”Show a network of little dotsAsk them to write down what they seeShow another picture where these dots are LCs on a world mapExplain AIESECShow another picture where your LC location is a red dot and present specificopportunities in your LC

Option 6: Dots II

Introduce yourself“May I test your fantasy?”Show a cloud of dots.Ask them to tell you what they see. They will see crazy things: cats, ice-cream, trees...Then lay a picture with a world map on the dots.Explain them that this is your personal network that you have gained thanks toAIESEC.introduce AIESEC...Suited to older students

Option 7: Who has already… ? (1 st year onl y)This one might be hard to pull off without seeming really arrogant, so maybe ust take it as inspiration for similar approaches.

Introduce yourselfAsk questions:Who has already been a part of a team that has organized a conference for 350people?Who has already been on a traineeship in a foreign country?Who has already…?(The aim is to demonstrate all the opportunities that AIESEC offers – leadershippositions, conferences, work abroad, etc. and have the least people raising their handswhile you still keep yours up ;) )

PITCHING SUBJECTDiscipline specific stuff and relevant AIESEC facts

TARGETED MESSAGES

WHEN IT COMES TO TARGETING YOUR PRESENTATION , IT’S ALL ABOUT COMMON SENSE . S IMPLY ASK YOURSELF : WHO IS MY AUDIENCE AND HOW DO THE INTERESTS OF MY AUDIENCE COINCIDE WITH WHAT AIESEC HAS TO OFFER ?

Beginning of studies:¬ In your presentation, focus on how AIESEC is going to benefit them in their personal

and professional development already during their studies.¬ One idea for how to structure your presentation:o Present what AIESEC is: “World’s largest student-run organization, founded in 1948,today existent in 100 countries all over the world in more than 1100 universities”o Briefly present international opportunities for students: international conferences,

international network, exchange (after four semesters of studies), …o Present your LC: how many members, what are the opportunities for new members

(teams, projects, upcoming events).¬ With first-year students do not focus on exchange, as they are not yet eligible for

AIESEC internships, but do mention it as an attractive opportunity in the future.

Middle of studiesThird and fourth year students might also be an interesting target for marketing if you

are running OGX initiatives. Just make sure NOT to run TM and OGX recruitment promotion in the same classes as this will confuse and bore students.

¬ Attract them with specific exchange and leadership opportunities . You could startyour presentation by presenting a very attractive internship.

¬ Adapt your message to the kind of class that you are speaking to (the following pointsare just ideas, adapt them to the reality of your university):

o For finance and economics classes: present MT opportunities.o For management classes: outline the practical experience and skills that you can gain

in AIESEC, present MT opportunities.o For social studies classes: Present DT opportunities, focus on the global aspect of

AIESEC.o For IT classes: Present specific TT opportunities.o … (you get the idea)

End of studies/Fresh Graduates:If you are running OGX Initiatives, you might want to focus on these classes and do class presentations that present the specific opportunity on going on an exchange with AIESEC through one of the initiatives.

¬ Focus on offering these people an international internship experience to round off their

studies.¬ These people will not be as interested in the long-term professional and short-term

development that AIESEC offers, but rather more concrete, immediate opportunitiessuch as internships and possibilities to get in contact with the professional worldthrough AIESEC (networking).

¬ Briefly present what AIESEC is (“World’s largest student-run organization, founded in1948, today existent in 100 countries all over the world in more than 1100 universities”)and what we do (“international internships, global learning opportunities, leadershipopportunities”), then move on to presenting them with very sp ecific opportunities .You could briefly present three internships that would be interesting for that audience.

Example:

Scenario: Pitching to senior commerce students (Finance)(For OGX initiatives NOT for TM Recruitment in general)

TIPS

SMILEJ

believe me or not, it works! Practice! Practice! Practice! You can be nervous as hell but make sure that it does

not show! Rehearse again and again with your teammate and go for it as it is theeasiest thing in the world!

KISS = Keep it short and simple.

Be natural . Don’t talk for 5 minutes straight, you don’t want it to sound like sales pitch.Pause, respond and ask questions, make sure it is a 2-way dialogue.

Be confident . You know how much of an impact AIESEC has made on you and othersaround you. Be proud and confident in this!

Speak from your heart and say things because you mean it not because it is your job.

Don’t try to please everyone . Sometimes we try to sell AIESEC in the easiest waypossible by finding what we think someone might like and telling them they can get it inAIESEC, even if we are not sure if it may be true (over selling). This could includetelling someone that they can go wherever they like, whenever they like, or telling themthat they can do particular things like meet CEO’s or get high paying jobs. All thingscome from good intentions but be very careful that what you say doesn’t set the wrongexpectations and set someone up for disappointment.

For OGX, Know and Understand Internship trends and academic requirements foreach pool well before you start marketing (for OGX recruitment)
