Discussion
Education of future physiotherapists should touch on problems of social rehabilitation. So it’s very important to descripe student’s attitude to future patients-disabled people. Defining disability is one of methods being used to descripe these attitudes (verbal index). Students recognize problems of disabled people but they have different opinions in medical and psychological category. They remark also bad financial situation of disabled. These information are not dependent on gender or kind of university as well.
Conclusions:
Characterization of „our” definition of disability: Negative associations predominate possitive in medical category; Possitive associations predominate negative in following categories:
social and economical; In psychological category possitive associations predominate
negative but in this category the most of people don’t have opinion about disabled people.
Implications of physiotherapist’s education
In education of future physiotherapists should be more underlined problems of social integration of diabled people. It’s very important to pay attention on subjective treatment of disabled in the whole complesive rehabilitation process (preventive treatment, therapy, integration). Researches prove that many students are not interested in psychological problems of disabled people. So this is most important to underline these problems in education of future physiotherapists.
