approximately 24% of the energy consumed by the manufacturing sector.
UsesAbout 95% of all separation processes used in industry is distillation.
Other usesIt can be used to separate three liquid mixtures as well as two liquid mixtures.
Vacuum DistillationUsed when liquids break down at or close to their boiling points.
