Mechanical Engineering

The Department o�ers a richly integrated curriculum of education and research exposure to its students. Experimental computational facilities are being continuously upgraded. The job opportunities are wide open for Mechanical Engineers in aerospace, Automotive and Manufacturing sectors apart from research establishments. The areas of study includes Manufacturing processes, Mechatronics, Heat and Mass Transfer, Tool Engineering and Design, Design of machine elements, CIM and Robotic. The scope of the course varies from material research to machinery development, Nano Technology, Smart materials, Aerospace Technology, FMS, CIM, Automation and such other interrelated developments. Electronics & Communication Engineering

The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering which is apart of this esteemed, celebrated institution since 2012 is one of the pioneers in the field of technology this department is headed by eminent professors with experts in their own recent technological disciplines, aims at educating and training students with sound knowledge and awareness in the latest trends in electronics, communication & information technology with real time approach.

The state of the art laboratories complement the high standards set by the competitive syllabus and nurture the inclination of the students towards research and development, besides giving them the necessary and su�cient backing of the practical knowledge that they need.

Computer Science & Engineering

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at SPCE was established in the year 2012-13. The Department provides an outstanding learning environment complemented by excellence in teaching. Civil Engineering

The field of civil engineering has been growing very fast in the recent years as we have now realized the importance of infrastructure development. If you have a love for structural design, planning and construction, explore this course. It includes study in the areas of Surveying, Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Irrigation & Water Resource Engineering, Water Supply & Sanitary Engineering and Building Materials and Construction Technology.

The department aims at imparting better education in the field of Civil Engineering to suit the ever growing construction industry and is dedicated to maintain highest quality in teaching and also practical aspects and also train the young engineers equipped with latest knowledge in the field of Civil Engineering by providing conductive teaching environment in the classrooms followed by practical training in the relevant laboratory to have hands on experience followed by field visits.

Information Science & Engineering

The Department of Information science & Engineering at SPCE was established in the year 2012-13. The objective of the Department is to train students to "Create or Innovate Technologies and Deliver to People". So, the latest available technologies for teaching are incorporated to provide excellent education to the students. GENERAL SCIENCE

Mathematics

Department of Mathematics was established in 2012. The department takes special care in helping the students overcome their di�culties even by conducting bridge courses. The department is striding in the progressive path and has a team of well qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty members. There is a wide spread interaction between mathematics department and various engineering departments in the field of teaching and research. The Objectives of the Department is to provide strong Mathematical background to Engineering Graduates to cope up with the needs of emerging technology at National and International levels.

Physics

Physics Department is an active wave of Technical Study being carried out in a wide variety of frontier areas in engineering programs. The course curriculum is periodically upgraded by the VTU. Belgaum. The department is headed by highly qualified and experienced faculty who is very active in extension programs conducted in the college. The department has a well- established laboratory built in vast area to accommodate sixty students at a time with ultra- modern laboratory equipment. The experimental methods followed in the Physics throws light to new arena for the budding Engineers to start and proceed with manual measurement practices that enhance their proficiency which is an essential skill requirement for their advanced technical procedures.

Chemistry

Department of chemistry was established in the year 2012. Department has well equipped modern lab with all safety measures for the safeguard of the students. Individual attention for all students to instrumental analysis. Department has Qualified, dedicated and experienced sta� members who has published research papers in National and International Journals. Sta� members are encouraged in their research activities and permitted to participate in various National and International conferences.

SPCE Library and Information CenterThe Library was established in the year 2012. The main objective of library is to deliver world class service to its users by providing various books, journals, dailies, magazines and other related materials.The aim of library is to develop a comprehensive collection of study materials which enriches the knowledge of students, faculties and research scholars. It holds knowledge resources predominantly related to engineering and technology, management, and research articles published in various e-journals (Knimbus, IET-Online, Proquest, e-books). Central Computing Facility

SPCE has a centralized computing facility provided through a high speed dedicated leased line internet connection. The campus is also Wi-Fi enabled providing continuous access to the college network. In addition the college boasts a state of the art computer lab available for access by all the students.

Transport Facility

SPCE has its own fleet of hi-tech Buses that takes care of all the transport needs of sta� and students commuting from all parts of Bangalore and surrounding areas.

SPCE campus is equipped with Wi-Fi which provides 24X7 internet facility to students without any charges.

The Training and Placement Cell helps all the students by providing a wide range of events and competitive exams for career- related achievements. Scholarships

Scholarships are the highlight to the students to meet their minimum requirements for the needy students. It is also proposed from the management side to support a fixed number of students every year to meet the students tuition fees based on merit and financial condition of the students.

Canteen

There is a healthy and hygienic canteen facility inside the college premises. The canteen is spacious enough for pupils to move about and take their seats. The food articles provided are of very low price and full of nourishment. The canteen services are properly supervised by the food committee from time to time.

Hostel Facility

SPCE provides hostel facilities to both boys and girls. It includes, spacious rooms with attached bathrooms shared among two people, periodic maintenance of rooms, hygienic food, Wi-Fi enabled among hostel premises.

Medical Facility

For the protection, preservation and promotion of health, a well organized programme of health instruction is essential for the students. The college provides medical facilities and health education program for the benefit of the students. The college invites a registered medical practitioner from time to time to examine the student’s health. The college also organizes Yoga and Meditation programmes by experts.

Physical Education & Sports Meet

Sports Day was celebrated in Shri Pillappa College of Engineering on 05. 04. 2013 & 06. 04. 2013 The Chairman Mr. P Naveen Kumar presided over the function and delivered the presidential speech. Physical education-is an integral part of educational programme designed to promote the optimum development of an individual.

It makes one emotionally, mentally and physically strong. The primary aims of physical education have varied, based on the needs of the time and place. Sport is commonly defined as an organized, competitive and skillful physical activity requiring commitment and fair play. Prof. Sateesh B C, Prof. Jagadeesh A Y, Mr. Mahesh Y worked round-the-clock to make these events a grand success.

Cultural Day - TARANG 2013

Cultural Day is an annual celebration of the fantastic ethnic diversity of our college that includes staged cultural performances. SPCE students along with other college students can be seen in their groups sharing their ideas and cooperating and supporting each other on stage. Developing on-stage leadership skills with other students in their performances can witness some extraordinary dances and other talents.

The college encourages the rich cultural heritage of the ethnic groups from various parts of India. It is an annual event called by name "TARANG" that brings our children close to their origin.

Tarang highlights Cultural Songs, Dance, Drama, Cooking, Painting, Rangoli and Collage competitions along with other exploration of student's talents.
