The most frequent asked question of me is why does it read "Thomas(# 1) Dunn"? We (Earl Dunn and myself) gave him the "#I" desigmnion beforewe knew anything about him. This designation was entered into the computersas the father of James Dunn simply because we did not know his name.

The first time I discovered the names of Thomas and Mary (Higgins)Dunn was during a research trip. I found their nmnes listed on a marriagecertificate for a Mary Dunn/Oliver Mahue. Since I had been under theassumption that James had all brothers, I wasn't too excited about it. Icontinued my research and found a marriage notice for ThomasDunnNiolinda Lathe. At or close to the time of his marriage Morrisworked for United Farmers in the creamery in Troyand continued there until moving to Spenser, MaSsin the summer of 1942. A man bv the name ofPidgeon from North Troy was working there and byword of mouth Morris gets a job. Morris workedthere for the Kittridges for 16 years until a backinjury made farming unsuitable in the late 1950's.Mr. Kittridge helped Morris find work at theAndover Public Works Department from which heretired in 1977 at the age of 70.

Morris and Ruth had 6 children together -allliving today with the exception of Michael, born in1945 and killed in Vietnam in the spring of 1969.This was heart wrenching to Morris and Ruth twoparents devoted to their t~ly, their children. '

Dunn, born in Ireland, came to the Newport, Vennontare in about 1850 and apparently settled in theStanstead, Quebec area. We have little infonnationabout Patrick or his descendants. If anyone has anyinformation or have even heard things about Patrickplease call Peggy or myself We are most anxious tolearn about this side of our Family.

We made some mistakes but what good fortune.They allow us to "set the record straight" andultimately have a more accurate history. We sort ofdumbed down on my telephone number which wasembarrassing! !

As our experience with the Dunn Journalunfolds I can see a real potential wreck. We reallywork hard at accuracy and try to be real sensitive.What I fear most is declaring someone deceased onlyto get a letter reminding me they haven't given up theghost yet...or maybe worst yet, declaring someoneliving when in fact they have deceased. (I would hateto get that letter from them!!)

This sounds like an apology paid in advance.Actuallv we will look forw-ard to vour correctionsand the- risks we take will only improve our ongoingproject. So given this, here are the corrections to theOctober issue;
