OBITUARIES Harriet Ellen 'Peggy' Henry

November 19,1924 - June 18,2000 Harriet Ellen "Peggy" Henry, 75,

of Lissie, passed away at 3:20 p.m. Sunday, June 18, 2000 at her resi- dence.

She was born November 19,1924, in Lissie to Albert Bartlett and Helen Alice Lott Smith.

A lifelong resident of Lissie, she was a graduate of Eagle Lake High School.

She and E.H. "Pie" Henry were married on May 3,1942 in Lissie.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Nettie Marie Griffis.

Survivors include her husband, "Pie" of Lissie; sons and daughters-in-

law, Bart and Terri Henry of Eagle Lake, Gary and Lolo Henry of College Station, Brad and Stephanie Henry of Bay City and Greg and Clarice Henry of Lissie; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were sched- uled for 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, from the Lissie Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the di- rection of Dulany Funeral Home of Eagle Lake.

Scheduled pallbearers were her grandchildren, Jeremiah, Jason, Brad, Billy, Sarah, Dana and Clinton Henry.

Sympathy is extended to the fam- ily in their loss.

Rosalie J. Perry July 6,1910 - June 17,2000

Rosalie J. Perry, 89, of Lissie, passed away Saturday, June 17,2000 at Methodist Hospital in Houston.

She was bom July 6, 1910, in Fayette County to Theodore and Julia Janak.

Rosalie and John Henry Perry were married on September 13,1931.

She loved her little home in Lissie, her children, the Lissie United Meth- odist Church and dancing to the old Bohemian music, waltzes in particu- lar, and the great polka. People would clear the floor to watch her and her friend, John Shimek, do the "Seven Step Polka"; she was Czech (or Bohe- mian) and loved going to all the old Czech fests.

Rosalie loved traveling anywhere, getting in her car and visiting people, particularly in the La Grange and Fayetteville area, or traveling to see her children in college or their nearby homes.

She traveled all over the U.S. with her children from San Diego, Missis- sippi, Washington, D.C, New Mex- ico, Colorado and Las Vegas to San Francisco.

She loved flowers and her garden, canning, picking dew berries, cooking good old fashioned food, homemade yeast rolls, roast and chicken, cakes and lemon and chocolate pies.

If someone said anything particu- larly nice about one of her children, she would quickly say, "All of my children are good children and good to me.

She loved "flutzing around" at home and in her yard-doing first one thing and another with no particular schedule.

Rosalie was a timid, kind and lov- ing person and always trying to help

others. She was preceded in death by her

parents; husband, John Henry Perry; son, Herbert Ray Perry; step-son, William Martin Perry; grandson, John Perry Nix; three brothers; four sisters; and a daughter-in-law, Joyce Ripper Perry.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Ruby Lee and Bob Overton of Missouri City, Edna Mae and Emory Nix of Crockett and Lu- cille Perry and Bud of Lissie; son and daughter-in-law, George E. and Mary Perry of Winchester; grandchildren, Mike Perry and wife, Amy, of Dayton, Denise Perry Greene and husband, Tom, of Deer Park, and Rebekka Nix Wall and husband, Bill, of Cascade, Iowa; four great-grandchildren, Stephen and Samantha Perry, David Lahman and Kayla Greene; sister-in- law, Ruby Perry of Altair; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Funeral services were scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 21, from the Chapel of Dulany Funeral Home, Eagle Lake, with Rev. Bill Ramsey, pastor of Lissie United Methodist Church, officiating. JaNeille Etherid- ge was to serve as organist.

Arrangements were under the di- rection of Dulany Funeral Home.

Scheduled pallbearers were Vic- tor Ray Corman, Peter Stelzel, Arthur Anderson, Daniel Maretka, Tommy Guthman, Frank Higgins and Mike Perry.

The family requests memorials be made to the Lissie United Methodist Church, P.O., Box 668, Lissie, Texas 77454.
