UNIVERSE Definition- :

The Universe comprises everything we perceive to exist physically, space, time, all forms of matter and energy.

GALAXY

Definition-

Galaxies are star systems

made up of hundreds of thousands

or even billions of stars in addition

to gas and dust.

A STAR Definition— A huge ball of gas held together by

gravity. The central core of a star is extremely hot and produces energy. Some of this energy is released as visible light which makes the star glow.

Stars come in different sizes, colours and temperatures.

PLANET

Definition- Planet is a celestial body that1) Is in orbit around the Sun2) has sufficient mass to assume a

round shape3) Has cleared the neighbourhood

ASTEROIDS

Any number of numerous small,

often irregular shaped rocky bodies

that orbit the sun, primarily in the

asteroid belt, A region between the

orbits of mars and Jupiter .

METEOROID, METEOR, METEORITE

Meteoroid is a solid object moving in interplanetary space, of a size considerably smaller than an asteroid and considerably larger than an atom.

Meteor is the visible streak of light that occurs when a meteoroid enter the earth’s atmosphere.

Meteorite is a portion of a meteoroid or asteroid that survives its passage through the atmosphere and impacts with the ground without being destroyed.
