Best Wishes For a Speedy Recovery To: Regina Abbott Sue Taylor
Condolences to: Mi Chu on the passing of her husband Yong Su Chu. Mary Upman on the passing of her husband Philip.
The Clubhouse Committee needs assistance with looking at ideas to keep our community current with national and local trends, along with ideas for future needs of the community. Many of the recent improvements have taken years to plan; it doesn't happen overnight. We need enthusiastic neighbors with lots of ideas
to help.
Such as:
Would going “greener” benefit the community?
What other leisure requirements do we
need to consider?
How we use the pool as a community?
Pool needs and replenishments?
Future clubhouse refurbishment.
All ideas will be considered.
We are one of the first over 55 communities in Howard County. Help us be one of the
most desirable ones in Maryland.
Contact Lisa, our On Site Manager for further details 410-465-1652.
Villa Parking Residents please leave the indents free for visitors. Your cars should be parked either in
your garage or on your front parking pad.
As courtesy to your neighbors please have your visitors park in the indents in front of your home if the space is available.

Discover the Hidden Layers in Famous Works of Art Ann Wiker is returning on 12 April from 1-3 pm in the clubhouse with another of her popular presentations. In this next discussion she explores the hidden layers beneath famous works of art and answers questions such as: Why has da VInci's Mona Lisa remained an immensely popular painting over the years? Why is the figure in Edvard Munch's famous painting screaming? What caused Picasso's Blue Period? Why did Salvador Dali repeat the dripping clock image in his paintings? Ann explains why throughout history, artists have used their artwork to communicate meanings and feelings. She outlines why they have included symbols and compositional designs as a language, sometimes not obvious upon first viewing. Finally she discusses
the rumors and legends that have emerged around certain
masterpieces.
This will be another exciting presentation, so if you are
interested don’t delay as enrollment in the class will be limited!
The cost is $8. Contact

payable to The Enclave

SIMPLY MADE, SIMPLY GREAT
Grandma Rose’s Baked Ziti
Winter is…..cold, dreary, snowy. And January, after the holidays are over, the family has retreated to home, and the nest is emptier than in December, can be a cruel month. What a perfect time for
comfort food. And what comfort food is better than warm pasta when the recipe comes from your
long loved and long gone grandmother. So, today, I share Grandma Rose’s famous Baked Ziti. It’s warm and filling, like a big hug. And, in moderation, it actually can be on a holiday-induced diet,
particularly if served with a large salad (and, if also in moderation, a glass of red wine).
1. Mix meatball ingredients lightly and shape into 1” round balls 2. In large pot, cover bottom with oil, add 2 whole cloves of garlic. Heat and add meatballs to
brown on all sides. Remove meatballs and garlic (set meatballs aside and toss the garlic) 3. Add tomatoes and tomato paste, water equivalent to 4 tomato paste cans, salt and pepper, and
simmer for 1 hour . 4. Add meatballs to “sauce” and simmer for 60-90 minutes to thicken the sauce; stir frequently. 5. Cook ziti in salted water in an ovenproof pot, but remove before fully cooked—very al dente!
Drain, but do not rinse. Put ziti in a bowl and mix enough of the “sauce” (minus meatballs) with the ziti to robe the ziti.
6. Using the now-empty pot in which the ziti was cooked, mix together the “sauce,” ricotta cheese, 4 cubed slices of mozzarella and grated parmesan.
7. Cover bottom of large roasting pan with a “nice layer” of enhanced sauce (with meatballs), add a layer of sauce-robed ziti, a layer of mozzarella and grated parmesan cheese; repeat all layers, and finish with a final layer of sauce.
8. Bake at 375 for 40-60 minutes. Turn off oven and “let set” about 15 minutes. SERVE with a salad.
In the words of the immortal Julia, “Bon appétit!” And enjoy the warmth of winter comfort food and memories of family and friends.
