Google announces Collections
The release came with a Google article published on May 4, 2015, titled "Introducing Google+ Collections, a new way to group your posts by topic:
"Every collection is a focused set of posts on a particular topic, providing an easy way for you to organize all the things you’re into. Each collection can be shared publicly, privately, or with a custom set of people. Once you create your first collection, your profile will display a new tab where other people can find and follow your collections."
Google Plus Collections Are Essential Tools for BloggersThey provide the means to categorize posts into your chosen topic , giving each post a longer, EVERGREEN life.
Evergreen content means that your posts are relevant, timeless, and able to be found.
My philosophy on the value of blogging, reading, and collections.
Blogging is an art, craft, and act of powerful communication. Anyone can blog, so everyone’s
voice can be heard.
Blogging is the height of Cultural Evolution
Humanity has reached a peak of genetic and cultural evolution, allowing us to feel empathy for each other, which empowers human cultural connections through technology, blogging, and social media.
If you're not currently using Google Plus, now might be the time to start because a big improvement was released last week, and you will be missing out if you skip it.
My purpose here is to help you get involved with Collections while they are still cutting-edge sharing opportunities.
The addition of Collections to your Google Plus account brings you one of the most powerful tools of Pinterest, allowing you to categorize, organize, and keep your posts active. You can create as many categories as you want.
When you post into your collections, you can automatically share it with the public and all your circles.
When people are attracted to your profile page, they will now be able to browse different categories of information that you have posted, increasing engagement and creating the potential for evergreen posts.
