Campus Project and Employee Spotlight

910 Madison building (HR training room, 10th floor) - Bill Crewe, Project Manager

Renovations are mostly complete on the HR training room at 910 Madison, 10th floor. A new break room was created as well as enlarging an existing conference room. The work included new lighting and flooring. Facilities team members working on this project are Mike Stone – Painter; Will Pittman and Anthony Tyler – Carpenters; Calvin Tate - Electrician See pictures below...

Derek Hall and Ola Anderson“Mr. Bradshaw, I wanted to send a quick email letting you know what a great job Derek and Ola did on our carpet. We had a flood in our office in the Johnson bldg., suite 427 and from start to finish they did an awesome job! They cleaned the carpet, the stains were gone and it was fresh again in our office. Derek also wipes everything down in the office and really goes above and beyond every time I see him!” Wendy Elliott, Medical Administrative Coordinator, Neurosurgery

Michael Jones, Ola Anderson, Larry Harris, and Derrick Hall “I would like for you to know that Mike, Ola, Derrick and Larry are AWESOME. I can call or catch one of them in the hallway and request something and they will make it happen. Mike and his crew have always been GREAT. I called Mike on something and he was right on it. Ola has ALWAYS made sure that we have everything we need. I appreciate her so much. If she is off, she will come back and make sure that we were taken care of while she was out. Employees efforts get noticed at College of Dentistry! “Tracy Curry/Alfonza Dabney, thank you for cleaning the carpet in office spaces in C106A at spur of the moment due to construction, on the A level and whenever requested in other offices within the building” “Carlton Rutherford, thank you for cleaning the floor in S510B”“Tracy Curry, thank you for the carpet cleaning prior to new furniture in 4th floor conference room”“Joseph Ingram, thank you for getting our offices cleaned” Ramona Ivy, The Office of Clinical Affairs

Flood in Coleman Building (1st & 2nd floor)The Coleman Facility experienced a flood on the 1st and 2nd floor due to a broken water line under one of the sinks. By the time the Custodial staff arrived, the water had spread through the majority of the 2nd floor and traveled to the 1st floor. The team did not hesitate to stay past their 2 a.m. shift end time to tackle the problem and ensure the clean-up was under control (which lasted several hours and kept the staff busy) until Belfor arrived. Working on this project: Roy Owens Jr., Maurice Ware and Taketha Houston. Great job team!

Facilities Administration Employees

Facilities’ employees took time out from their busy day to enjoy the Pizza with Joe (UT President Joe DiPietro) event which included pizza, gifts, games, music, fun and many great laughs! Pizza with Joe is a yearly tribute event held as a way to thank faculty/staff for their dedication, contributions and the great work they do each day. Keep up the awesome work team!!

Our Mission

The Facilities Services Departmentis responsible for the basic operationand continuous maintenance of the physical properties of The Universityof Tennessee Health Science Center.

Key & Lock Control Management

The administration of key and lock control is now with Facilities Administration. If you need to turn in or transfer keys, have new keys issued, or have locksmithing needs, please bring completed forms (found on Facilities website) to the Locksmith office. We are located in the Physical Plant Building (room 224).

Office hours are 7:45 am - 4:45 pm, Monday through Friday. For further assistance, you may call 448-5503.

BENEFITS FACTS, REMINDERS AND UPDATES!

The Annual Benefits Open Enrollment Period is: October 3-14, 2016!

The Benefits Administration announced this year’s open enrollment period will be for two weeks only!

More details regarding insurance plans and changes will be mailed to your home address from the Benefits Administration in the near future. It is YOUR responsibility to review this information to determine if you will need to make insurance changes for 2017. The Benefits Office provides HR128 training classes prior to and during the Open enrollment Period.

The 2016 Benefits Fair will be held Thursday, September 29, 10 am - 2 pm. The Benefits Office invites all employees to attend the Benefits Fair! State plan insurance and retirement vendors as well as UT representatives will be in attendance to provide information and giveaways! Hope to see you there!
