CLOTHING DRIVE
We are so pleased to host another Clothing Drive through
Big Brothers Big Sisters. Our fall drive begins Monday,
10/2. We will be collecting your donations in the front
lobby through Thursday, 10/19. This is the best way to pare
down your clothing and make a difference!
The exciting part about this program is not only does Big
Brothers Big Sisters benefit from the clothing drive, but the
participating organizations also get paid! We will be
donating the proceeds from the drive to Watermark for
Kids, a non profit that empowers underserved
children. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

LIVING WELL
Watermark Retirement Communities are
proud to participate in National Breast
Cancer Awareness Month. Other than
skin cancer, breast cancer is the most
common cancer among American
women. About 1 in 8 women born today
in the United States will get breast
cancer at some point. Each year in the
United States, more than 200,000
women get breast cancer. Men also get
breast cancer, but it is not very common.
Most breast cancers are found in women
who are 50 years old or older. The good
news is that many women survive breast
cancer if it’s found and treated early.
Many breast cancer symptoms are
invisible and not noticeable without a
professional screening, but some
symptoms can be caught early just by
being proactive about your breast
health. Getting mammograms regularly
can lower the risk of dying from breast
cancer. The United States Preventive
Services Task Force recommends that if
you are 50 to 74 years old, be sure to
have a screening mammogram every
two years.
Talk to your health care provider about
your risk for breast cancer, especially if a
close family member of yours has had
breast or ovarian cancer. Your provider
can help you decide which preventive
measures best meet your needs.
"Believe there is a hope for a cure"
