Then I ate it, and it was sweet as honey in my mouth. –Ezekiel 3: 3-- There is an old Hasidic tradition. You may have heard of it before. A large drop of honey is placed on the first page of the Torah the first time a Jewish child opens the Bible to read and study it. The child is instructed to lick the honey from the page, forever imprinting the young scholar with the memory-taste of pleasure, the conviction that the study of God’s “Word” is sweet. God's word is always sweet as honey to those willing to delve into its richness, and it provides the substance for a life filled with spiritual abundance. Through studying God’s word, our relationship with God goes deeper and strengthened. There are golden opportunities to do just that. On Sunday, September 8 th , we resume our Sunday school with a rally Day to continue to help our children as well as adults feed the sweet word of God. We invite everyone to the Rally Day breakfast on that Sunday at 8: 30 am. Our Sunday school teachers are always prepared to feed you with the word of God. There are also worship services where the word of God is proclaimed every single Sunday. A big part of Jesus’ ministry is teaching, and he wants to feed us with the word of God which makes our relationship go deeper and strengthened and gives a life filled with spiritual abundance and joy. We welcome you back to the fall season. Come and eat the word and it will be sweet as honey in your mouth! Love and Peace, Sukja

From the Pastor’s Desk……

God said to me, "Son of man, feed your stomach and fill your body with this scroll which I am giving you." Then I ate it, and it was sweet as honey in my mouth. On Sunday, September 8th, we resume our Sunday school with a rally Day to continue to help our children as well as adults feed the sweet word of God.

Love and Peace,

Sukja

Something to Think About! Did you know that on November 1, 2020, our

church turns 150 years old?? How would you like to

see this momentous event celebrated? Planning

needs to start now. It was proposed at the last

Administrative Council meeting, that a 150th

Anniversary Committee should be formed. Would

you like to be involved? Please let Pastor Sukja

Bang, or Debbie Hine know if you would like to be

involved. Thank you!

The task of the Ushers/Greeters is very important to

the life of the congregation. They are the first contact any member or visitor has with AUMC. That first impression is very important and sets the tone for how people are likely to experience worship. Thank you for serving Christ in this way.

Ushers will collect prayer request cards from the center aisle while singing the first hymn and give them to the pastor. If you hold up the prayer request cards with both of your hands, it will be helpful for the congregation to know that you are collecting the prayer request cards.

Sponsoring Bulletins and Flowers Sponsoring altar flowers is a simple way to glorify God and beautify the altar. They can be placed in honor of someone, in memory of someone, in celebration of a birthday, anniversary, or other milestone, or just to give thanks for God's blessings. Your sponsorship and dedication will be printed in the bulletin for that Sunday. The same goes for sponsoring bulletins. The cost for sponsoring altar flowers is $40 and the cost for sponsoring bulletins is $10. Please consider signing up. If sponsoring flowers, call Albanese Florist (610-588-0441) or J.C. Bloom Designs (610-588-3855) and place an order with them under the Ackermanville UMC account. Place the cost of flowers (or bulletins) in the offering plate on Sunday in a separate envelope, designating that it’s for the cost of the flowers or bulletins. Thank you.

Slate Belt Nursing and Rehabilitation On the first Sunday of the month, we offer worship at Slate Belt Nursing and Rehabilitation at 2:15pm. We have been blessed by getting to know folks and develop relationships with them. Consider joining us to share the love of Christ with the folks at Slate Belt..

During worship, we have BLAST bags available for children in the sanctuary. These bags are changed regularly and coordinate with the sermon series. Please help your children see the connections!
