You should have extensive experience of working directly with children, young people and their families within a child protection context as well as a sound knowledge of child protection research, guidance, legislation and policies. You should have a high level of communication, organisational and leadership skills and have the ability to work within a team, with partner agencies and on your own initiative.

Your key tasks include offering high level support and advice to health staff; be actively involved in multi-agency Initial Referral Discussions; deliver specialist child protection training to health staff and contribute to the delivery of multi-agency training. Another core task is the coordination and facilitation of group and case specific child protection clinical supervision within a variety of settings across Fife, delivered to a range of health-care professionals.

It is recognised that as people live longer, services and the way we work together has to change if we are to continue to meet the needs and aspirations of our communities. In Fife Health and Social Care Partnership there is a recognition that having staff with the right Knowledge and Skills within the community is required to support patients to live long and healthy lives in their own home or in a homely environment.

We are therefore looking to enhance our Community Nursing Teams with the appointment of an Advanced Nurse Practitioner. This role will support the existing team of two Advanced Nurse Practitioners who support General Practice and the Community Nursing Teams deliver safe, effective and person centred care to patients within the primary care setting. This role supports the ongoing development of the service which supports the timely review, treatment planning and care coordination for patients within the nursing and residential care home settings.

You will be required to be educated to degree or Specialist Practitioner Qualification and be committed to be working towards your Masters in Advanced Practice. You must already have completed your clinical assessment and non-medical prescribing qualifications to apply for this role and be committed to completing the MSc in Advanced Practice. You will be supported to do so through a period of induction and training over an 18 month period of which at the conclusion you will have attained the National competency level of an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and concluded your master’s study. You will require excellent communication skills and be able to work as a member of the wider Health and Social Care Team with the ability to work autonomously utilising your own initiative, clinical judgement and decision making.

Trainees are paid a percentage of the pay band maximum for the qualified rate which is dependant on the duration of the training period (see terms and conditions in job pack).

SECONDMENT OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced nurse who will embrace this dynamic and challenging secondment. The applicant will be an experienced nurse who is working towards advanced clinical skills and has already completed Advanced Clinical Decision Making at Level 9 or above. This post will help to enhance patient care and pathways within the Medical Admissions Unit. The successful candidate will posses advanced knowledge of the acutely ill patient in all medical specialties thus ensuring their effective management and treatment. This will involve working across professional and organisational boundaries in partnership with other acute care nursing and medical staff, allied health professionals and senior management teams. They will support direct patient management in partnership with senior medical staff, have sound clinical knowledge and highly developed clinical decision-making skills in acute medical care. The applicant should posses the ability to prioritise fluctuating workloads, remain focused, and be flexible in an extremely busy environment.

We require a forward thinking individual to join the NHS Fife Research & Development Team to support investigators, to set up and undertake a range of non commercial and commercial research studies. You will be involved in the recruitment, education, monitoring and follow-up of research participants and the collection and documentation of accurate data. You will work collaboratively with Principal and Chief Investigators and the wider multi-disciplinary team in the management of your own caseload of research patients and be based within the R&D Department, Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline.

You will be a First Level Registered Nurse with experience normally gained by having post registration experience or equivalent. Research experience is essential. You will have a knowledge of research principles, including confidentiality, randomisation procedures, informed consent and ethical issues, and an understanding of research within the context of the Health & Social Care Framework and Good Clinical Practice. Attention to detail, strong organisational and communication skills, good IT skills and a methodical approach are key requirements, along with a proven ability to work independently and lead a team of research nurses. Ability to regularly travel between all sites within NHS Fife is essential.

Due to retirements we currently have some vacancies for midwives here in our Maternity Service in Fife. We are a dynamic, progressive and really friendly team. We can offer you band 5 or band 6 midwifery roles. These posts will be permanent and are rotational posts. We can offer you various hours to suit you.

The unit is modern and progressive with approximately 3500 births per year. The services include outpatient and community services, a complex care Consultant Unit and an alongside Midwife Led Unit. We are developing services in line with Best Start recommendations. We are focussing on increasing our rates of continuity of carer in the first instance. We are developing a birth at home team and already have teams established for vulnerable in pregnancy, infant nutrition and child protection.

We will encourage you with your professional development education via our dedicated clinical midwife educator and midwifery PEF. We have an extremely successful in house leadership programme and regularly encourage staff to participate in external networking.

You must be a NMC Registered Midwife You should possess excellent team working skills with effective communication.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 5 registered nurse to join our stroke rehabilitation unit.

Letham is a 14 bedded stroke rehabilitation unit with the community setting. We are looking to appoint a nurse with a passion for delivering excellent standards of care.

You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. As part of the multi-disciplinary team you will work closely within the stroke services and also have regular contact with other specialities within the hospital and community setting. You will have the opportunity to learn and develop specialist skills in the assessment and care of the stroke patient. You will be supported in your role with ongoing training which includes the completion of specific stroke care competencies.

We are looking for a replacement Consultant Neonatologist to join our existing team in Fife delivering quality care to babies and their families.

You will join a close-knit team of neonatologists, who with the general paediatricians, work across both acute (hospital-based) and community settings. The current general paediatric consultant team have special interests in allergy, child protection, diabetes, endocrinology, respiratory, gastroenterology, neurobehavioural paediatrics, rheumatology, neurology and cardiology. You will be encouraged to work closely with specialists in the regional centres, to contribute to audit and research on the unit and to further enhance and promote paediatric training in Fife. This post carries a mandatory on-call commitment.

We are a level 3 neonatal unit based in the Victoria Hospital with six ITU/HDU cots and 14 special care cots with the unit admitting around 450 infants per year. The birth rate in NHS Fife is approximately 3500 per year. We are part of the SE Scotland neonatal Managed Clinical Network. Badgernet has been in operation in the unit for the past 4 years and the maternity system recently started in August 2016. The unit delivers therapeutic hypothermia, HFOV and inhaled nitric oxide therapies and cares for infants of any gestation. Only surgical and cardiac neonates are routinely transferred elsewhere for treatment. We have regularly run Newborn Life Support courses for all new nurses and medical staff since 2003.

The Paediatric and Child Health Services in Fife are delivered across a number of community settings and in a 24 bedded in-patient ward located in the recently built wing of the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy. A separate Children’s Out-Patient Department and Ambulatory Care Unit complete the services offered in the hospital. There are around 3000 medical paediatric admissions per annum. Additional out-patient services are offered at the Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline.

Applicants must be on the GMC’s Specialist Register or within six months of obtaining specialist registration at the time of interview. Non UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training. MRCPCH (or equivalent) is also essential.

NHS Fife offers this programme to all new nurses, midwives and allied health professions (including bank staff). The programme is hosted across three locations and is facilitated by nursing and midwifery Practice Education Facilitators and the AHP Practice Education Lead:

The 4 sessions offer you support and guidance as well as putting you in touch with other NQPs. Ideally practitioners will attend all 4 workshops and where possible in sequential order. The aims are:

o To support newly qualified nurses, midwives and AHPs recognise their responsibilities as a registered practitioner

o To prepare NQPs for their first Personal Development Plan (PDP)/Turas Appraisal and embed within their practice life-long learning

o Support in the completion of the Flying Start NHS programme within the first year of practice

What is Flying Start NHS?

Flying Start NHS is the national development programme for all newly qualified nurses, midwives and allied health professionals, to be undertaken in the first year of practice. It’s designed to help support the transition from pre-registered student to qualified, confident and capable health professional by supporting learning and development.

BAND 7 AHP OPERATIONAL LEAD – NHS 24

NHS 24 is looking for a temporary, part-time Band 7 Operational AHP lead to support the national Musculoskeletal Advice & Triage service (MATs). This role would be a joint role, via secondment, with a host territorial board. This role would initially be up to end March 2019. MATERNITY LOCUM GP

Millhill Surgery is based in the historic town of Dunfermline with easy access to the motorways to Perth, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

We work from purpose built premises. We are looking to recruit a GP to cover maternity leave from the beginning of January 2019 until the end of August 2019. These dates are negotiable and the post has the potential to be extended. The GP going on leave covers 8 sessions per week over 4 days.

This position may offer newly qualified GPs an opportunity to work in a supported environment to experience regular work whilst also exploring other opportunities. Our list size is approximately 9000 using EMIS and Docman. We have advanced nurse practitioners seeing out minor illness who support our GPs who are on 15 minute appointments.

We are a friendly team and the doctors meet several times during the day informally which allows the opportunity for catch up and continued learning. Our community staff are based in the practice including pharmacists, midwives, district nurses and health visitors.

Practice teaches Aberdeen and St Andrews students regularly.
