We have great expectations for this title at retail – it is a

big title for us this Christmas and we are supporting it

fully through both our marketing and trade marketing

campaigns. We are hopeful that the brand of Michael

Jackson will really help to alleviate the profile of the

game and it will be in the forefront of consumers’ minds

this Christmas.

What key features can players experience in 

the game?

Michael Jackson The Experience is the first music

entertainment title which lets you step into the shoes of the

King of Pop, and includes his greatest hits and moves. The

Wii version which is coming out on November 26th

challenges you to dance like Michael and learn all his most

iconic moves accompanied by a tracklist of over 25 of his

biggest hits. You follow an avatar that performs all of

Michael’s greatest routines in authentic environments

inspired by his music videos and on-stage performances.

The lyrics are also on the screen if you want to sing along

to the tracks. You can play against up to 3 other players on

the Wii and you can either all play as Michael or some can

choose to be the back-up dancers. There is a Michael

Jackson School Mode where a real life choreographer

teaches some of the more challenging moves in detail.

The DS and PSP formats are releasing on the same date

and they both focus around rhythm action gameplay. You

play along to the beat of some of Michael’s biggest hits,

and unlock new songs as you go along. There are three

difficulty levels so the game is accessible for everyone and

you can unlock some of Michael’s collectible memorabilia as

you play through the game as well.

Who is Ubisoft’s main target market for this title? 

Obviously the fan base for Michael Jackson is quite a

general one, spanning from young kids to grandparents!

We have combined our knowledge of Jackson fans with a

Wii ownership audience so our target in terms of our media

buy is 12-25 y.o girls. However there are elements of our

campaign that will focus around the broader audience such

as some of the PR and also the experiential campaign we

are running at shopping centres across the country, which

will focus on a family audience.

How are you going about raising awareness? 

At the moment we are actually running a sampling tour

which is visiting shopping centres all over the country

showcasing both Michael Jackson The Experience and Just

Dance 2. So from now up until Christmas over 10 cities will

be able to play the game pre-release, at launch and in the

run up to Christmas. In-store we are displaying pre-order

inlays and dummy boxes and sending emailers out to

consumers to raise their awareness of the title.The rest of

our marketing kicks off on 24th November with a TV

campaign which lasts up until Christmas, featuring a spot

on the X Factor on Saturday 27th November. We will be

supporting this with VOD focused around the X Factor, and

also online ads running on Facebook, MSN Messenger and

www.michaeljackson.com. There will be print ads running in

a handful of women’s weekly magazines post-launch and

we will have reviews, news features and competitions

running across press as well. There will be a celeb-studded

launch party taking place on Thursday 18th November

where a host of key media will be attending to get a first

look at the game. There will also be an event for key fan

sites and bloggers on Monday 15th November, again

where there will be an opportunity to play the game before

it comes out on release. So hopefully there will be a lot of

awareness and hype for the game pre-launch and this will

continue on building right up until Christmas.

Some 14 years on from the release of the revered SNES classic Donkey Kong

Country 3, Nintendo has rebooted one of its most beloved franchises just in

time for the Christmas rush.

Expectation is understandably sky-high for the Nintendo Wii exclusive, and

this Retro Studios-developed title, and faithfully, ahem, apes the gorgeous

look and feel of the side-scrolling platform trilogy.

The bad news is that DK's banana stash has been robbed by a group of evil

Tikis, and understandably, the big hairy ape wants them back.

For the first time in the celebrated series, two people will be able to team up

and play at the same time, with one player taking control of Donkey Kong,

and the other as Diddy Kong. Players can either team up as one unit, or can

hop off and explore the levels separately at any time. This time around, Diddy

Kong can help out with his trusty backpack, as well as Peanut Pop Gun.

For fans of the 16-bit originals, many of the game elements will be instantly

recognisable, including the barrel canyons and mine carts, and the hidden

items found throughout the jungle - such as the hard-to-reach K-O-N-G

letters that grant players an extra bonus at the end of every level.

But famed Canadian developer Retro Studios hasn't simply produced a

facsimile of the old style, but has enhanced it in breathtaking style, adding an

extra layer of three dimensional depth to the world and game play. Even for

newcomers to the series, the beautiful vibrancy and instant playability make

this a must-have for players young or old.

Being a first party Wii game, players can expect intuitive controls, with both

the 'classic' retro style supported alongside new motion controls, with Donkey
