In last month’s issue of The Future, Gem wereproud to announce the new partnership withSMK-Link as a vendor that was ‘New To Us’. Now,having had a brief on the company, it seems appropriate to look in a little bit more detail bothat company and their products.

The Pad Dock 10 will give iPad users possibly the easiest accessory purchasingdecision they will ever have. The acoustic and electronic tuning is noticeablefrom the very first listen. NBA 2K12Beginning in 1999, the NBA 2K series was an exclusive to the Sega Dreamcast. Theseries was originally published by Sega, underthe label Sega Sports and developed byVisual Concepts.

In 2002 Sega implemented the Americantelevision network, ESPN’s brand with theirSega Sports video games. The ESPN brandwas used for 3 games until ESPN signed a 15-year deal with EA Sports.

In 2005 Sega sold the NBA 2K series alongwith Visual Concepts to Take-Two Interactive.The series is currently published by 2K Sports,a publishing label of Take-Two.

The PlayStation 3 version of NBA 2K7 was thefirst version to support motion sensingcontrollers with a free throw shootingmechanic that has the player move the SonyController in a motion similar to a real freethrow shot, but was discounted for latergames in the series.

In 2008 2K Sports released the newestversion of the NBA 2K series, NBA 2K9.Featuring Shot Stick 2.0, Living Rosters, andAssociation 2.0. These new features are all apart of the new era of sports gaming.

In 2009 NBA 2K9 was the first title to bereleased on Windows, and the first game tofeature live roster updates from the 2KInsider rather than periodic roster movesavailable for download.
