This beachront property is now extremely popular as anall-inclusive hotel, as well as oering extensive conerenceacilities or its corporate guests. The atmosphere is lively in
winter, although the small spa with its separate pool oers a
tranquil alternative, and the hotels antastic location beside
the ocean ensures stunning views rom both the rooms and
public areas.
The hotel is built into the hillside, nestled between giant baobab trees, and
the rooms are o a contemporary style, most enjoying sea views rom their
ocean-acing balcony or terrace. Classic rooms, now renamed Standardbaobab rooms, are airly compact and located closest to reception on the cli
top; there is also a variety o upgrade options such as the superbly located
Beach palm rooms.
Dining may be in the elevated Crematata buet restaurant (not air-
conditioned) where breakast is also served, or there are weekly themed
dinners at the poolside. Since the introduction o the all-inclusive option in
January 2010, the atmosphere is lively with a less corporate eel, and this
property cannot now be compared to Sheraton hotels in other destinations.
Located near the village o Bruut, the setting o the hotel is more secluded
than some other properties, making it ideal or a hotel-based holiday.
But with a number o activities on oer including a tness room, beach
volleyball and billiards, there is plenty to do along with simply relaxing!
The spa oers a good choice o treatments and we particularly recommenda massage overlooking the stunning beach in one o the outdoor treatment
cabanas. The lively resort o Kololi is also just 8 kilometres away and the
hotel provides a courtesy bus service twice daily.

The Bakotu Hotel has been a frm avourite o our guestsand BBC presenter Chris Packham or many years, mainlythanks to the warm welcome the sta provide and the antastic
birdwatching available within the gardens. It is also in a good
location with a couple o other hotels, small restaurants, beach
bars and a crat market nearby.
The hotel provides a peaceul sanctuary or those looking or a relaxing
holiday; theres no loud music or organised pool games, with perhaps only
the occasional visit by local cultural entertainers. The rooms are dotted
throughout the tranquil gardens, where monkeys can oten be spotted alongwith the abundant birdlie. Some rooms have air-conditioning, pre-bookable
at a supplement, and amilies can also be catered or.
Captains Table, the hotels la carte restaurant, is very popular and enjoys
a good reputation or evening ood. The continental breakast should satisy
most appetites, however cooked breakasts can also be purchased. There
is a pool bar and second restaurant adding to the increased choice o places
to eat and drink in the area. Although not directly on the beach, sandy Kotu
beach is less than 100 metres away and can be reached by strolling through
the crat market. We believe, and our customers agree, that the Bakotu
thoroughly deserves its 3 rating.
