Greetings from GCCI! It is indeed my pleasure to write from President’s Desk on my restoration

as President of our Chamber. We, elected office bearer will try our level best to achieve the objectives of our Chamber.

It was our privilege to host at Gandhidham first meeting of Regional

Council of Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry for the year 2018-2019. Various issues relating to industry & commerce were discussed and lined-up for further representation at various levels of government.

A meeting of various local trade, social associations & organisation was

held at our Chamber to discuss and to formulate a roadmap to bring the issues of “Free Hold Land” to its logical conclusion.

It is a matter of pleasure that after our consistent persuasion with PGVCL

and Gujarat Government finally Environmental Clearance for the project of underground cabling of Gandhidham & Adipur has been received and tendering process is underway.

As a part of our endeavour and constant efforts to interact on

Meeting with Shipping Secretary @ DPT on 25.08.2018

GCCI delegation headed by President Shri Dinesh Gupta alongwith Hon. Secretary Shri Aashish Joshi, Hon. Jt. Secretary Shri Mahesh Puj, Treasurer Shri Jayesh Rajde, Past Hon. Secretary Shri Mahesh Tirthani, & Managing Committee Member Shri Balwant Thacker met Shipping Secretary Shri Gopal Krishna & DPT Chairman Shri Sanjay Bhatia and discuss various issues of Kandla – Gandhidham Complex. Hon’ble M.P. Shri Vinodbhai Chavda, Hon’ble MLS Smt. Maltiben Maheshwari and President, Gandhidham Nagarpalika Shri Kanjibahi Bahrya were also present during this meeting to support Chamber’s Representation.

Celebration of 72nd Independence Day

Newly Elected President Shri Dinesh Gupta hoisted the National Flag at the Chamber premises. The members of Managing Committee, staff and distinguished guests attended the flag hoisting ceremony. In his speech, Shri Gupta appealed to all businessmen, industrialist and citizens of this complex to contribute in the progress of our country by fulfilling their basic duties morally so that our country can achieve newer heights.

Regional Council Meeting of Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry

The first meeting (2018-2019) of the Regional Council of Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry was held on 11.08.2018. The meeting was hosted by the Gandhidham Chamber of Commerce. This meeting was attended by the President, Vice President, Secretary & other Office Bearers of the Regional Council Members’ namely Gandhidham Chamber, Southern Gujarat Chamber-Surat, Vadodara Chamber, Saurashtra Chamber-Bhavnagar, Jhalawad Chamber-Surendranagar, Junagadh Chamber & The Banaskantha District Chamber-Palanpur. At the outset, Gandhidham Chamber's Hon. Secretary Shri Ashish Joshi greeted all and thanked all the members for attending the meeting. Chairman of the Regional Council Dr. Jaimin Vasa greeted President Shri Dinesh Gupta with memento. President Shri Dinesh Gupta in his welcome speech said that it is a matter of pride for The Gandhidham Chamber to host such meeting and hope that from the regional council stage, we all together will resolve the issues of Trade & Commerce by adopting a result oriented approach to prove the usefulness and importance of the Regional Council. The President of the Gandhidham Chamber requested the Chairman of the Regional Council to re-sharpen the banner of the Regional Council before the government about the issues of freehold land of Gandhidham Complex, the Government's decision to completely eliminate the Salt Commissioner's office in the country and dual-classification of Kachchh district. Gandhidham Chamber had also presented issues to the Regional Council in writing, such as the difficulties faced by the companies under the new Companies Act 2013, the poor performance of RTO Offices, the increase the scope of PF office, Gandhidham, increase the coverage of Coastal Shipping in India, and increase the quota of lignite allocation for salt units. Representatives of other Chambers of Gujarat had also represented their issues and the Chairman of the Regional Council gave assurance to present these issues at the appropriate level. At the end, Vice President Shri Mahadev Rajani expressed thanks to all members of the Regional Council for taking an active participation in the discussion and also thanked for appreciation for hospitality and arrangements as narrated by the Regional Council members.

Rules & Regulations of Quiz 1. Five multiple choice questions based on a particular theme will be asked every month. 2. Participants can participate by sending the correct answers to all five questions by email to [email protected] 3. Participants must have mention his/her name and contact details compulsorily. 4. Only one entry per participant is allowed. 5. A Participant Eligible to win prize for Maximum 2 Times. 6. Correct Entries received only by email shall be eligible for prize. 7. Entries CANNOT be sent by any other medium like letter, SMS or WhatsApp. 8. Last date for receiving entries shall be 15th date of the month in which the quiz has been published. 9. Three winners will be declared every month. 10. The winners will be decided on “Fastest Finger First” basis; which means that the first correct entry received after the publication of

bulletin will be given the 1st prize; the second correct entry received will be given the 2nd prize and the third correct entry received shall be given the 3rd prize. The “time-stamp” shown in email shall be considered as proof for determining which entry came first.

11. In case of any dispute, the decision taken by the Convener of Bulletin Sub-Committee shall be final. 12. The members of the Managing Committee & Bulletin Sub-Committee of GCCI or their relatives shall not be eligible to participate in

this quiz. 13. Correct answers along with the names of the three winners shall be declared in the next issue of GCCI Bulletin. 14. Winners have to approach the GCCI office to claim their prizes within five working days of declaration of the results. 15. No cash shall be given in lieu of the prizes.
