CHAPTER 1

The Hazmat Suit Guy.

The Figure in the hazmat suit stopped and

turned to check that he had heard the

explosion correctly, and upon seeing that there

had not BEEN an explosion and that the

warehouse was all still there, he stopped

running away and started walking back.

As he neared the entrance he noticed that the

door was open and, as the place was deserted,

AND in the middle of nowhere, he had shut

the door as he fled the warehouse ( to stop

drafts), that meant that someone had opened

it.

So he did the obvious thing and took the secret

entrance into the security center (all the best

warehouses have them) and sure enough, on

one of the security screens there were two

lightly equipped soldier-looking people hanging

around the entrance, so, he picked up a device

which he had configured for just such an

occasion, and pushed a button (which went

red) and the signs (which he also designed for

just this situation) were made to be reversed

from "Gas TestingRoom>" to "Main Lab>"...Upon encountering these signs the soldiers

split up, and upon pressing another button on

the device (which went orange) gas flooded the

Gas Testing Room for a short while (enough toincapacitate the soldier) until the button was

pushed again (turning it green) The other was

going to have to be dealt with more directly...

Using the network of secret passages (the

scientist had gone to great lengths to keep his

inventions and workings secret) to get to theMain Lab he came up a way behind the soldier,

where he then sought some kind of non-lethal

weapon, but when he saw the soldiers helmet

he realized he could hit him very hard anyway

with a nearby wrench to knock him out. As he

moved closer he decided that a hazmat suit is

not the best thing to sneak around in and by

pushing a quick combination of buttons (which

flashed varying shades of red and orange) a

blood curdling (yet kind of generic) scream

echoed from the direction the soldier was

facing. The soldier went white under his

helmet. "What was that? What do I do?! WHY

did we split up!?." Fortunately his worries weremade obsolete by the intense pounding

sensation in the back of his head.

Chapter 2

The Army Is Involved

(Really?)

The Commander in charge of this operation

was absolutely FURIOUS. A relatively simple

task had completely FAILED to yield results.

Before deciding what to do next he wanted to

review the file on this strange man and his

warehouse so he shouted at someone to get it

for him. A short while later he was reading it.

"11:00 Tuesday March 18 2007. Explosion

reported near the outskirts of America, aninvestigation is begun. During the course of the

investigation highly complicated parts of

machines are found and the army is called

in..."

He knew the rest because he WAS the rest, Just

as he had decided that it wasnt worth

bothering with much more, some construction

had been reported at the blast site and here he

was again. About to (after some thought) order

a kind of siege on it.

Meanwhile Hazmat suit guy (here after referredto as "Hazmat suit guy" or Genius) was

preparing to escape, he had decided to take

some things and lie low until they got bored

searching the building. They wouldnt find his

latest work because he was going to hide it in a

specifically designed compartment. Themachine in question was supposed to take

vibration and heat to extreme levels, but this

wouldn't destroy the world. Hopefully.THAT

was why it had to be kept secret, so he could

make it and test it and make sure that if it

worked, he could make sure that no one ever

used it. As a decoy machine that was useless

was placed in the center of the lab by a handy

mechanichal arm, the secret compartment

closed with the real machine safely inside and

even more safely un-operational (the heat was

fine, the vibration needed to be added next) a

voice rung out around the warehouse "Come

out of there now. We know you are in there.We just want to ask some questions." He

hadn't expected them to be so quick but as

usual he had a backup plan, he pushed a

button on the device (which went red) and his

own prerecorded voice answered the other.

"Who are you? No, it doesn't matter I think Iwill vaporize you, or should I gas you? I have

plenty of time...You won't get in here!"

After a while the officer in charge of the siege

contacted the commander. "Sir, he is still

talking, requesting orders." He was slightlyunnerved by all these death threats but the

Commander (here after referred to as

"Commander") would surely know what to do,

then the orders came through " Move in and

bring him out alive." Not the orders he wanted,

but orders were orders.

CHAPTER 3 TEN MINUTES

LATER

(was that all?)

"He wasn't in there sir. But we did find a pretty

impressive machine that he left behind." Said

the officer to the commander over the radio.

"Bring it in for examination then." Said the

Commander. Another failed attempt. Thought

the Commander, but at least he was now going

to get some answers.

Running along the dark, underground tunnel

that would eventually link up with the nearby

citys sewers, the figure in the hazmat suit

stopped to reflect on the situation. After a

short while he pushed a button on the device

(which went red) and the lights in the tunnel

came on and then (for laughs) he pushed the

scream button on the device and thought

about where to get help from, Police? No that

would make it worse. The army? No that WAS

the army. Whoever he got help from, theywould have to be on the wrong side of the law.

As the Commander waited for a report on the

machine he was walking through the

warehouse when suddenly...

Typical of a librarian to be reading. Thought

the Genius as he made for the librarys

computer and typed into the search engine

Criminal Masterminds and then waited for

the archives to be searched. He then searched

the results himself for one that hadnt killed

anyone and he had found one being held at a

maximum security prison on an island

somewhere that is not in Canada when the

librarian walked up beside him and said Uh

sir, Im going to have to ask you to leave. If

you remember, a short while ago he was in a

sewer system, and the smell sticks.

CHAPTER 4

Prison Break

(Id rather write about a lunch break)

He still hadnt received a report for that

machine, so he was going to go down

there and MAKE them give him one. He

reached the door to the lab and input the

code into the panel on the wall 9172

and the main door slid open while the

reinforced door unlocked itself in several

places and slid open itself, he strode

through and in under 50 seconds you

could have heard him through thereinforced door WHAT!? ITS USELESS?!

Being a man of science, the Genius didnt

have a religion to stop him killing people.

He just didnt do it because he had ethics.

Regardless of his ethics he would need

non lethal methods of incapacitation and

the best way to get that would be to get

his lab back for a short time. But as his

warehouse was being patrolled day and

night this would be very difficult.

Fortunately he didnt know this.He arrived at the front of the warehouse in

almost pitch black conditions, so no one

saw him coming, but he could see the

soldiers at the front door guarding the

entrance. While he could have gone

through the secret entrance he decided to

try and bluff his way in. Emergency in the

lab! Dont let anyone through here! He

said to the guards as he rushed through

the doors before they could react. To

make himself look busy he picked up a

modified TV remote and strode swiftlyto the chemical storage room.

Still mad at the decoy machine the

Commander went to his quarters where he

thought about the situation, the scientist

and anyone else there had escaped, the

machine was useless and he didnt know

anything new. This was looking more and

more like a losing battle with each new

development, so he decided to sleep on it

and formulate a plan in the morning.

Anti-paraffin... Basic soap... Real paraffin...Ah hyper-chloroform! Just the thing! Add

some water, put in a spray bottle, done.

The perfect method of ending awkward

moments, arguments and fights. The TV

remote hadnt been useful so far but he

hung on to it anyway and headed for the

main exit, and as he was passing through

he decided to test his spray on the guards,

he sprayed them quickly and quietly, and

they fell like confused logs. Now knowing

that it worked he needed to get to the

harbor and from there to a boat, so hewent back in, got a drinks cooler, came

out and said to the driver of a nearby

vehicle I need to get these to the harbor

for some tests, take me there. The driver

being a soldier followed the orders without

question.

The Commander woke to the sound of his

phone ringing, and upon answering it

discovered that the two guards guarding

the entrance to the ware house had fallen

unconscious has anything happened? Heasked. no. Came the reply. He

disconnected the call and went back to an

angry sleep .

When he arrived at the harbor he told the

driver to go back to the warehouse and

started looking for a boat he could get for

free (for a degree of free) and as luck

would have it a small boat was being left

all alone by its crew who were going to a

nearby bar for a pint or 20 so he quickly

boarded it and set it adrift and started

sailing to the prison that is not in Canada.Meanwhile inside the prison the prisoners

were being called out for inspection, but

the Mastermind had been observing the

guards closely and had discovered nothing

except that when faced with a new

situation they were slow to react and open

to commands, and, when his name was

called out he remained silent in order to

fake a missing prisoner. The guards looked

uneasy, then he picked his moment (just

before the last moment but after all hopehas been lost) and shouted THERE HE

GOES! THROUGH THAT DOOR! which was

conveniently swaying in the wind. As the

guards swarmed towards it and everyone

else looked towards it, he made a break

for a different door and headed for the

control room which he had never been to.

But as 60% of the prison was cells 10%

walls, 10% shore and 20% other rooms,

60% of which he had been in at one point

only left two rooms, one of which was

rightHERE...

It was fairly calm on the water...No wind or

waves...Or pirates...Just the prison lights

that were frantically moving around in the

distance.

The guards quarters!? Of all therooms...Still, he made the most of it by

putting on a spare uniform and heading

for the control room (Again). When he got

there he decided to act important WHAT

is going on!? He said. The operator said

One of the convicts has escap- The restwas cut off by the Mastermind knocking

him out. He then proceeded to lock up

most of the prisons doors and open the

main one, which he then headed for.

The doors opened as the figure in the

hazmat suit approached, so he stayedoutside to see what was coming out, after

a while someone in a guards outfit, no

wait *check memory* the Mastermind!

Taking a desperate gamble before the

Mastermind got away he shouted to him

Hey! Im on your side! The Masterminddecided that he could get rid of him if he

was lying and told him to get on the boat,

Which he did. But before they could get

far, a police boat appeared! Fortunately

they didnt get more than a look from the

other boat so they sailed closer, with a

figure in a hazmat suit at the wheel to

attract attention, and when they were

close enough, the Mastermind jumped

onto the other boat unseen, as everyone

was paying attention to the Genius at thewheel. (Yes, they did spray the 6 extra

police on board)

The Commander awoke to the endless

ringing that was his phone. He answered

it, and was actually greeted with pie good

news. The scientist had been found

unconscious far away from Canada and

was being brought in at that very

moment, it would take about 30 minutes

to get him to the Commander.

CHAPTER 5

Interrogation, Pills, More Pills and a

Meeting.

(Oh is that all?)

The Commander walked into the

interrogation room and as he did so, the

figure in the hazmat suit looked up he said

Sir with all due respect. All I remember is

this person in a plastic suit sailing a boat

next to us then I must have gone

unconscious, and then I wake up with this

suit on and police and soldiers all around

me! It took a while to verify, but after

that it was plain that the Commander had

been made a fool of, and he did NOT like

to be made a fool of.

After the bases doctor had given the

Commander a few pills (without telling

him that they were in his drink) the

Commander calmed down and could once

again make rational decisions, the first of

which was to fire everyone and do themission himself.

After he had received a few more pills he

decided to wait for a report from the

prison.

Meanwhile the Genius had been tellingMastermind about his situation and the

Mastermind had agreed to help, but he

also decided to phone up his old team

members and call them to a meeting

using a stolen phone.

LATER

It turned out that one member had died

and two others had left the group but

retained their criminality by becoming

salesmen. The forth and last member had

moved to Australia for some obscure

reason. So, realizing they were on their

own, they decided to wait and see what

the next move was from the safety of a hill

on the outskirts of the perimeter of the

warehouse, as they had no idea what the

Commander was thinking, or that heexisted.

The Commander on the other hand knew

exactly what he was thinking and was

reasonably sure that he existed. Currently

he was mulling over the prison report, it

was not such a wild guess to assume that

the scientist and the criminal were in it

together at present. He would have to

draw them out somehow...Thats it! He

said aloud.

It had just gone 8:00 when they arrived atthe outskirts of the perimeter of the

warehouse to see what would happen next

from the safety of a nearby hill, when they

heard on a loudspeaker All personnel to

evacuatethe warehouse as the bomb will

explode in 15 minutes. Having built the

warehouse to withstand explosions, it was

a safe bet that they were using military

precision (its much cheaper) so they

would have put the bomb (assuming there

were not two) in the chemical storage

room. If he could just get to the secretpassage and from there the security

center and from THEREthe network of

secret passages that could lead him to the

storage room in less than 15 minutes then

he was fine.

CHAPTER 6

Bomb Disposal.

(Not to mention a high-speedgetaway that never happened...)

Upon reaching the security center and

looking at the screen for the storage room

it was obvious they had been tricked, as

there were no less than 8 soldiers in that

room. He pressed a button on the device

(Yes, he still has that device) and then he

pressed a few more and most of the

ventilation was cut off, except for the

ducts from the security room to the gas

storage room, he then sprayed some

chloroform (Yes, he still has that too) andheaded for the storage room when he

realized that he now had more or less the

whole warehouse to himself for the first

time since it had been besieged...

The Commander was waiting anxiously to

see if the fake bomb would work when a

van came crashing out of what was the

garage door and sped off as he shouted

FOLLOW THAT VAN! The important thing

was that it had worked. The scientist had

fled the building in a van with all hisequipment, so when he was caught, he

wouldnt even need to ask that many

questions. He was thinking this when one

of the soldiers who were inside the

building as a contingency plan rushed

over to him. Sir, there has been a gas

leak, the others are all unconscious. He

said. "Get them away from the building

and issue some gas masks." Said the

commander. Just what he needed, a faulty

building.

Meanwhile. The Genius was not in fact,

driving away at top speed, but was

carefully locking most of the doors in his

warehouse. He had also retrived several

items that might be useful at some point.Among them were such items as: A small

portable solar panel for recharging his

equipement, a night-vision/ thermal vision/

sonar/ two way radio headset, A small

packet of loose change and some extra

Hyper-chloroform, in smoke grenade form.NOW he left for the secret exit, but in

style...

"Sir, the gas masks have been issued and

the men are recieving medical attention."

Said the soldier. "Good work, anything

else?" Said the Commander. "Yes sir,

While we were in the warehouse we came

across a strange compartment with some

kind of square device in it. We found some

blueprints nearby. It could be worth

looking into." "Really? Good work soldier,look into it..."

The plan that the Genius had outlined

went like this: Distract the army from the

warehouse, steal some useful things, thenwait for the army to leave. Keep doing this

over and over until the warehouse is

empty. This plan requiered a place to stay

and stash all the "stolen" equipement

while they distracted the army. The

Genius was thinking this as he waswalking down the sewers leading away

from his warehouse, he put them there

himself of course, so no one knew about

them. One warehouse doesn't need man

sized sewers after all.

The Commander didn't have it so easy on

the other hand, as by the day, there were

more and more soldiers on site, This was

because he was paranoid due to not

finding the scientist, not finding the

criminal and because someone had stolen

his pen, which is terrible if you have to

write reports and sign documents

requesting more soldiers. The fact that he

had found a secret square machine was

not helping.During the last paragraph, the Genius had

hit on where to set up a base of

operations, in the sewers surrounding the

warehouse. He had also, by this time,

managed to re-aquire some of his

equipement and place it in the temporary

sewer base.

The Mastermind had been impersonating

a soldier all this time ( Sir, there has been

a gas leak, the others are all

unconscious. ) and had been trying to get

the militaries scientists to finish building

the machine, hence he aquired the blue-

prints for it and handed them over.

Meanwhile the Commander had finally

come up with an actual plan. Cover the

area with searchlights and night-vision-goggle guards. But at the presice moment

that it became two minutes since he gave

the order to execute the afore-mentioned

plan, a scientist entered his office. (Near

the warehouse, but not too near.) "Sir."

Said the resident smart-guy."After careful

examination, we have discovered that this

machine uses vast amounts of heat and

energy. It could be some kind of weapon."

If the machine was a weapon then that

would explain why the Genius had runaway, why he was building it in secret and

why he had hidden it. He may be enemy

spy as well but that was no longer

important. "What action should we take

sir?" The reply came."Finish it."

Back on that hill on the outskirts of theperimeter, the Genius had set up a well-

camoflauged outpost. To spy on their

camp.(To find out where the highly

explosive stuff was kept.) He saw that

they were setting up search lights on

makeshiftscaffolds.

The Mastermind had been spying on

almost every aspect of the temporary

base when he came to The Commanders

office. He sat and waited a discreet

distance away until The Commander cameout of his office door, locking it behind him

and putting the key (Already on a key

ring.) in his pocket.

CHAPTER 7A Series Of Fortunate And

Daring Events.
