Thehouse in the book might have looked similar to those in the earlier slides.During the party, those attending were probably smoking, a popularpractice by men and women in the 1920s, as well as drinking, which wasillegal due to the 18th amendment to the constitution. They were mostlikely listening to music, possibly by popular jazz artists of the time likeLouis Armstrong or Duke Ellington. The party goers were probablywearing attire similar to that shown in the photographs in earlier slides. 12.
