I am so excited to invite you to my wedding photography workshop in Bend, Oregon. The

creative journey I have planned for us will take you through the ins-and-outs of the wedding

photography business that have made me successful. The Great Northwest Workshop will

not be your typical workshop. While we will be discussing different aspects of the wedding

business, our main purpose is to come together, renew, refresh, and inspire one another to try

something new and amazing.

My workshop will be a fun way for us to get a refreshing new perspective on photography and

ourselves. It’s an opportunity for us to grow and to pursue our passions. The best part of this

experience are the connections we create by just getting together, which I have found to be one

of the greatest gifts of what we do. This workshop is a chance for us to connect, artist to artist,

sharing our craft, and really dive into the understanding of what makes our work so unique:

people, and the magnificent stories they bring with them, that touch our hearts, and keep us

doing what we do.

We’ve also got some incredible sponsors on board - giveaways and discounts from Moore &

Giles, Hold Fast, LensBuddy, RedTree Albums and more! I hope you will join us.

The City of Bend, Oregon - once a simple logging town, now the outdoor mecca of the Pacific

Northwest. With a diverse surrounding of high desert landscape to the east and deep forestation

to the west, Bend has so much to offer explorers, sportsmen, and artists alike. Bend is not the

dreary and gloomy NW location you might be imagining - the surreal mountainscapes, big

skies, and beautiful weather make Central Oregon the ideal place for us to lose ourselves in our

art, and emerge fresh, inspired and ready to create!

TRAVEL

LOCATION

To get to Bend, the easiest way is to fly into the Redmond Airport, which is only a 20 minute

drive. Alternatively, you can fly into Portland, which would save you some dollars but will take

you on a three-hour drive through the Hood River valley, which is absolutely stunning! Either

way, the road to Bend is a good one.

/// CURRICULUM

Our goal for this workshop is to be an amazing platform for everyone to bounce their ideas and experiences off of as we create an atmosphere of colleagues and friends working together.

/// CURRICULUM

Workflow and post processing can be something that can drain you and your time. We have

found ways to optimize the way we work to improve the quality, continuity, and turnaround

time of our work.

Marketing and social media are only as beneficial as you make them. We have found huge

success in the way we market our brand and use different media to our advantage.

Shooting portraits is one of the most fun, yet important things we do as wedding photographers.

It’s our job to capture clients in a way they haven’t seen. We have some beautiful places picked

out to show you how we go about shooting people and using the environment around to really

add style and sophistication to your photographs.

WORKFLOW

MARKETING

PORTRAITS

The Great Northwest Workshop will cover my specific shooting prep, workflow, post processing

and portraiture style. I would also like to include you in how my strategies with marketing and

social media differ from the rest. We will have fun with the workshop as we shoot in a laid-

back, friendly working environment.

I want to help you turn your passion into a sustainable career, and if you have done that already,

not to worry, you can always improve your game. I’m not here to say that my way is the only

way to success. It’s so easy to get caught in a creative rut or to lose your drive when pursuing

a creative career. I believe that if you’re stuck, confused, or feeling uninspired, this workshop

could really benefit you. My workshop revolves around sharing the principles I employ in my

business and my art, which in turn has given me much inspiration and success.

ARMATURE STUDIO \\\

The Amature is a collaborative workspace and studio with phenomenal natural lighting, gorgeous plank wood flooring, and endless options for backdrops and surfaces. This space is ideal for getting us in the mood, revved up, and ready to let our creative juices flow! This is where we’ll be photographing Wedding Prep and Details.

ARMATURE STUDIO \\\

We can’t begin to describe the beauty and awe you’ll experience when we’re at Todd Lake! The Lake is surrounded by snow-capped mountain peaks, dense mossy forests, and tall grass fields. The weather can vary, from foggy and ethereal to bright and romantic. No matter what situation we are presented with, we know the photos you make will be nothing short of incredible.

The Photoshoot: the highlight of the workshop. I cant wait to show you how I approach my shooting, although posing, angles, lighting, locations and gear are very key - the way I interact with my clients is the most important aspect of capturing real emotion and natural expression.

THE SHOOT \\\

We are so pleased to be collaborating with some really talented local artists for this event. These people are the ones who really help things come together to look and feel exceptional. Our collaborators include:

Custom dress designed by Claire La Faye: Portland, OR.

Wrapping Up

On the evening we all fly in, I would love to have a meet and greet dinner at

The Lot with you and all who have booked this beautiful workshop as a time

for us to get to know each other, and have a great time eating good food and

hanging out!

We will start the workshop with a morning classroom session at Armature.

We will discuss The Art of Wedding Photography Business most of the

morning. When we finish, we will head out to CRUX for lunch. After we

share a delicious meal, we will work on shooting wedding details followed

by a Marketing and Social Media classroom session. Ending the day with

dinner and free time will give us quite a full day!

Starting off day two with a Workflow and Post Processing classroom session

will lead us right into lunch and into the highlight of the workshop: The

Photoshoot. We have 2 great locations picked out to shoot prep and portrait

photos: The Armature and Todd Lake. This will take us most of the day as we

want to thoroughly explore these beautiful spaces. We will end the day with

dinner and free time.

With this being our last day, we realize that some people may need to

leave early for flight reasons. We hope everyone will stay as we will have a

Workshop Wrap-Up, Q&A, Share & Critique Session at Armature. This will

take us through lunch and end our time together.

LODGING & FOOD \\\

We will be staying at the fabulous Wall Street Suites, a motel transformed into an eclectic,

upscale collection of modern suites, with plenty of space for everyone! There are options to

have a suite all to yourself, or you can bunk with a couple of your new friends. The outdoor

common area is comfortable casual, and will make for the perfect space for us to get to know

each other.

Breakfast will be provided each morning, otherwise, Bend has plenty of delicious dining options

(please make known any specifi c dietary needs or allergies beforehand). One of my favorite

places is called The Lot, a collection of food trucks with plenty of choices, a fun environment,

and lots of good beer!.

LODGING & FOOD \\\

/// PREPARATION

We are going to be sharing time together for 3 days and 3 nights. Typically, the weather in July is warm during the day and a bit cooler in the evening, so plan accordingly. Be ready to hike around and explore. We recommend water resistant and tough, trail-ready shoes! Also, bring bug spray and sunscreen as well as your swimsuit, just in case! Bring your camera gear, extra batt eries, and laptop. Make sure to have your gear marked or labeled to prevent confusion.
