Over the winter months we have been busy beavers refurbishing existing rooms and bathrooms, as well as adding an additional 25 new Ambassador Plus rooms. These fabulous new rooms feature double or twin beds, large en-suite showers, comfy seating, panoramic French doors, 32inch TVs and more.

Not to be outdone, our entertainment crew have also been snazzing up their offerings by installing brand new all-singing, all-dancing stage lighting to add extra sparkle to our already glamorous breaks. We may all have to wear shades.

WiFi on the park has also been enhanced so you’ll be able to send those

all-important snaps or boast about the amazing time you’re having. We encourage boasting at every opportunity.

The restaurant has had a thorough facelift with a lovely new interior and some surprise additions you’ll have to see for yourselves. The pool changing rooms have also been updated with a new décor and safety features such as anti-slip flooring and lockers.

You’ll start your evening by walking up the red carpet before being presented with a theatre ticket. The evening’s

entertainment commences with pre-theatre dancing before the opening of Act 1. During the interval refreshments, popcorn and ice-cream can be purchased before the show resumes with Act 2. Take in some History…. The Solent is steeped in Naval history and offers spectacular attractions within easy reach of Mill Rythe, including some of the most famous warships ever built. One of our favourite spots is Portsmouth Historic Dockyard which showcases over 800 years of Naval history, including the HMS Victory, HMS Warrior 1860 and Henry VIII’s flagship, the Mary Rose. Nearby, the Royal Navy Submarine Museum is home to the HMS Alliance, which is the only surviving example of its class.

At the Waterfront… Gunwharf Quays has something for everyone with 90 designer outlets, 30 cosmopolitan bars and restaurants, a 14-screen cinema, a bowling complex, contemporary art gallery, comedy club and more!

Dare to skywalk…. Get a lift to the top of Spinnaker Tower and be rewarded with a birds-eye view of 23 miles worth of beautiful south coast. Feeling brave? Why not

venture across the amazing glass Sky Walk at the top the Tower, where only glass and 170 meters of air separate you from the waves below.

Across the pond…. Enjoy the breeze on the upper deck of the ferry as you head to the stunning Isle of Wight. The list of attractions is long, but our top three are Robin Hill Adventure Park, The Needles and Carisbrooke Castle. At Robin Hill, you can enjoy

History enthusiasts can enjoy 800 years worth at Carisbrooke Castle. Of course, you may ignore our picks, pack a picnic and take in the fresh air at Sandown Seafront. We approve.

Katy began working at Mill Rythe over ten years ago, starting her working career as a shop assistant but we think it’s actually in her blood. (Katy’s mum worked here as a chalet maid when it was the Sunshine Holiday Village.) What Katy doesn’t know about Mill Rythe and the local area just isn’t worth knowing. Katy’s claim to fame is that from the age of 8 -16 , she was a sea cadet and her band performed at the Royal Albert Hall.

Helen joined the team in 2012 and has 22 years experience within the leisure industry. Helen loves the variety that every day brings and enjoys the personal connection of working closely with group organisers to make sure everyone enjoys themselves. In her spare time Helen loves to travel and try new things. Her latest crazy adventure included a parachute jump and her claim to fame is she was once an extra in a lottery advert for the BBC!

Cathy Murphy Head of Sales

After a diverse career including veterinary nursing, a pharmacy technician, new hotel openings and business development with blue chip companies, Cathy started working at Mill Rythe in 2010. Cathy LOVES a chat and enjoys building excellent relationships with group organisers to make sure she fully understands each group’s wants and needs. While seeing groups enjoy themselves so much they return again and again is reward enough, Cathy’s favourite drink is red wine, if anyone is buying.

Walk the Hayling Billy Coast Line…This 4-mile long coastal path runs along the original route of the “Hayling Billy” train line. Hugging the western coast of the island, it offers a peaceful route between West Town in the south and Langstone Bridge in the north. The path itself has two tracks; one for horse riders and one for pedestrians and cyclists.

The perfect day out….. Staunton Country Park, Havant boasts beautiful gardens, including a maze, Victorian glasshouses and so much more. The

brochures describe it as “idyllic” and we agree.

All aboard…Jump on the Hayling Island Railway, chug along the seafront, take in the sights then hop off grab a nice cuppa, sit on the beach and take in the fresh air.

Need for speed….. Visit the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu to see a stunning collection of world famous cars from F1 Grand Prix, Top Gear, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Mr Bean and James Bond. You can also explore the glorious grounds and the Abbey.

We are fit to burst with pride about the Mill Rythe Christmas Spectacular. We know our guests love it because they tell us so but we also love it because we know how much care and effort our entertainment team put into every detail.

We have spared no expense in bringing you this glittering stage production, which captures the very best of the festive season. Take time out to reawaken the joy of Christmas and be captivated by this revival of the Christmas spirit.

The musical score playfully reinvigorates Christmas classics and is matched by beautiful vocal harmonies. The angelic voices

of our talented performers merge with magical orchestration to transport you to a fairy tale winter wonderland…with touches of the unexpected. Confetti cannons anyone?

The custom-designed, handcrafted costumes are a visual feast and include a resplendent light-up gown. Yes, a light-up dress. We think that once you see it, you’ll agree that every Christmas show should have one.

Our staging is impeccable and the set is simply glorious. Staged in our ballroom, guests are surrounded by animated scenery and lighting effects that take you far, far away to a magical place. With snow falling and reindeer flying

above you, you’ll be lost in the magic of the season.

This magnificent show is a feature on all our Turkey & Tinsel breaks, which are all full board. Some packages also include great half-price bar deals on selected drinks.

You’ll be offered mulled wine and minced pies on arrival at the park, and treated to fabulous entertainment during your stay from both the Mill Rythe in-house entertainment team and a visiting cabaret performance.

If you want to stay a little longer, you could combine Christmas and New Year’s celebrations by booking for the Christmas Spectacular and the New Year Gala Dinner.

Mill Rythe has had more than five minutes of fame over the years. Did you know that the 1977 classic British comedy film Confessions of a Holiday Camp was filmed right here? Scenes were filmed across the whole park including the outdoor pool, games room, the ballroom, restaurant and more. In 2004, we also had the lovely Dot Cotton and Jim Branning visit to film scenes for EastEnders.

A few famous faces who started their working lives at Mill Rythe on the

entertainments team include Duncan James from iconic boy-band Blue, Rick Parfitt from the legendry rock band Status Quo and our very own Creative Director Max Barraclough who now writes for West End stage shows in his spare time.

But that’s not all - former Liverpool football club player Jason McAteer washed dishes in the kitchen before finding his feet on the field. There’s probably more fame in football.
